"Take a quick look around boys and girls." Mrs. Brown said. She walked over her desk and grabbed a couple of blue rags then returned to her previous spot. "Can someone tell me what they notice?"

A little boy with a green glasses raised his hand. "Yes?" Mrs. Brown said pointing at him. "The desks are too close to each other." He spoke. I looked around and indeed he was right. But especially my row. Actually, my row was in the middle and the other desks made a U shape around us.

Mrs. Brown acted as if she was thinking. "Good observation but that's not what it is." She looked at all of the other kids and asked "Anyone else?"

A red head curly hair boy chuckled and looked at my row. That's the son from that lady who laughed at me!

He looked up and stood. "All of you are dumb fools. Especially the ones in that row" he said pointing towards us. "That row are full of immigrant peasants." Mrs. Brown laughed making the rest of the students laugh. At this point, I felt my eyes get watery. I was humiliated although I shouldn't be.

"Don't you see?" He said talking to the other students. "We have illegal immigrants and a n-"

I felt Ramon stood up "Don't you dare call me that" I looked up and he was angry ready to beat up the kid and I'm not planning to hold him back.

"Now, now. Settle down kids. Settle down." Mrs. Brown said. "Thank you Jason."

"You're thanking him?" Ramon shouted not believing what he just heard. "You're a racist!"

"Excuse me?" Mrs. Brown gave him a look as in saying sit down before you get in trouble.

"What you heard! You're racist! You should get fired. You shouldn't be a teacher if all you're going to teach students is to be racist." Ramon shouted. I stood there silent not knowing what to do. I looked over at the other Latino kids in my row and they were as shock as I was.

"Here." Mrs. Brown said throwing the rags on the floor. "Clean every corner. I want this room clean" she said looking at my row only. I heard kids behind me giggle and my blood boiled. I won't allow her to treat me like I'm nothing.

"No." I said angry. I was shocked that I manage to say something. In the outside I made myself look calm but in the inside i was shaking. Ramon and the rest of the kids looked at me speechless.

"Excuse me?" Mrs. Brown came up to me. "You do what I say not what you want." She threatened me.

"I'm not your slave." I said looking straight in her eyes. "I'm going to get you fired. All of us 7 are going to make sure you get fired." I assured her. I looked over at Ramon and the other five and they nodded.

"Is that so?" She chuckled. "They think they can get me fired!" She laughed and the whole class laughed along. "I'll love to see you try." She walked over her desk and grabbed duck tape. What is she planning? I felt scared and grabbed Ramon's arm. He looked over at me scared too.

She came over to me and shouted. "Put your hands out!" I didn't obey and kept my hands away from her. She grabbed my hands forcefully hurting me and wrapped tape around them.

"Hey. You can't do that!" Shouted Ramon trying to take the tape off. She smacked him across the face and his eyes got watery. He sat down and tried to hold it in. This can't be happening.

After wrapping the tape around my hands she put a piece on my mouth so I wouldn't speak. Next was Ramon. I felt tears escape. All I wanted was to run next door to Joel. I need one of his hugs right now.

Mrs. Brown was done with Ramon and smirked. "Now kids, let's do a chant!" She grabbed me by my hair and Ramon by his ear and made us stand in front of everyone. Everyone laughed except the shy read head girl from earlier and the five Latinos in my row. I couldn't help it but cry.

I have a racist teacher and classmates.

••••••••••••••••••••••
This isn't made up. Sadly, my little sister's friend went through this. It makes me so mad that people have the guts to treat others wrong. Of course, the teacher got fired and was sent to jail for so many reasons. At the end of the day, we're all humans. We need to love and respect each other. If you see anyone being racist to any POC, don't ignore it. Put them in their place. Racism needs to end. We're all equal so we all deserve equality.

Sorry if this chapter made you uncomfortable. I felt the need to add that because there's so many students who go through this on the daily. (Obviously not this extreme) and I just wanted to let you guys now that this does happen. And that racism isn't over.
