X-Men Fan Fic - Chapter Four

"Show's over," says Jean, sighing. "Well, that was eventful. Nothing even happened!"

"No, well, Pyro fainted," says Bobby.

"Yeah, I wondered what happened there," says Hank.

I smile. "Let's find out.."

While everyone walks off to have lunch, Rogue, Hank, Jean, Bobby and I stride over to John, who's somewhere between present and unconscious.

"John? You okay?" asks Jean, biting her lip.

We're all trying not to ask what Roxanne told him. John moans.

"We'll get you up to the lab," says Jean.

John doesn't like this at all, as he has bad experiences with the lab. He gets up, which obviously takes him a lot of effort, and he stumbles over to Bobby, who lets him lean on his shoulder.

Bobby and John are best mates. They're usually arguing, but when bad stuff happens they're always helping each other out. Unless they're the cause of the bad stuff. Given their abilities you'd expect them to be against each other, but they're certainly not.

Bobby whispers something to John, and they both laugh, John somewhat faintly. Jean scowls.

"I really think you should-" she starts.

"Noooo," John and Bobby say in unison, before hobbling off towards the mansion.

"Wait!" says Jean, going after them.

Bobby and John increase their pace trying to outrun Jean, but they're laughing now and John's slipping from Bobby's grasp. They both fall over and lie on the ground, laughing. Jean catches up to them, not amused at all, and still intent on getting John into the lab. She signals for Hank, who shakes his head in reply.

"WHAT?!" exclaims Jean.

She doesn't need Hank to help her, she just doesn't want to do her dirty jobs herself. She's 27, John's 21. She can easily take him on.

She picks him up over one shoulder, and he can't really do anything to stop her. Scott runs outside - I assume Jean's sent for him in some telepathic way - and takes John off of her, taking him inside. John struggles feebly. They disappear into the mansion. I sigh.

"I feel sorry for him. He's not getting out of the lab of doom for ages," says Rogue.

"Why not?" I ask.

"Because Jean's put him in there. Remember last time you were in there?" Rogue reminds me.

Oh yeah. How could I forget.....
