Cam's POV
I was awoken from a nightmare. It all seemed too real; somehow the car crashed and Jc died. And that's when I woke up.I sat up, breathing heavy. I took a minute to remind myself where I was and why I was in a car. I sighed and leaned back, Jc glancing at me every 3 seconds.
"You good?" He rubbed my thigh and continued to drive, one hand on the steering wheel.
"Sure," I didn't wanna lie saying no, but I didn't wanna say yes either and make him worry.
"Seriously, Cam. Tell me what's up." We were on the freeway and I checked my phone to see it was 1:17pm.
"Just a bad dream. It's cool, don't stress." I leaned my seat upwards and took a sip from the water in the cupboard.
He nodded and rolled down our windows a little bit. Jaylyn was still sleeping in the backseat and Jc looked tired as it is.
"How's this; we pull over at this exit right here," He pointed at a sign that had rest stops and a mile numerage... "We eat, and then you drive the next two states, repeat, and then I drive the rest of the way, which is the last two states. Sound like a plan?"
I smiled and nodded, "Yeah."
He grinned and pulled off the exit and in to the plaza with all the cafés and restaurants. He parked, unbuckled his seat belt and turned back to look at Jaylyn.
"Should we wake her up?" He asked. She looked so peaceful sleeping and stuff.
"Let's wake her up, she has to eat. She'll be pissed if she finds out we ate without her." I looked at Jc who was still looking at Jaylyn.
He finally turned to me and nodded. I got out of the car and walked over to the side to get Jay while Jc was digging for his wallet behind his seat.
"Jay, let's go. We gotta eat," I shook her and unbuckled her seatbelt.
"I'm in desperate need for chicken nuggets." She lazily hopped out of the car and threw her hair up.
Jaylyn stayed behind me and Jc because she was dragging her feet in slippers and we didn't wanna have her behind us, walking slow.
"Gimme your hand," Jc held his hand out.
"Why?" I giggled. I don't really care but it was so broad and just unexpected.
"So no guys hit on you." He raised his eyebrows and stuck his hand out about a centimeter more.
I smiled and took is hand in mine, interwining our fingers.
"Aw, you're hand is so cute." He rubbed his thumb over mine as Jaylyn was taking pictures of us.
The walk to the restaurant was all the way across the huge parking lot.
I kept looking down at our hands. His hand felt so comfortable in mine. It felt like my hand was made to be fit in his. Cheesy, I know but its true.
"Cam, turn around!" Jaylyn yelled from behind. She was on snapchat, I wasn't taking chances.
"Nooo, leave me alone. I'm tired." I groaned as we finally got to the entrance of the restaurant.
We walked in, still hand in hand until we got to the booth we decided to sit at. Jc and I sat on one bench; Jaylyn obviously sat across.
"Y'all are so cute oh my God." Jaylyn for some reason couldn't get over us. That's not me being arrogant or cocky, it's a fact. She had her elbows rested on the table and her head rested in her hands.
I blushed and turned my face to hide my redness. I didn't want Jc to notice. I took a deep breath and turned back still with a smile.
"You're so cute." Jc laughed.
