final chapter
jc's pov
kian, jaylyn and i woke up miserable and sad. getting ready to say goodbye to a dear friend and girlfriend isn't something to look forward to.
"you ready?" kian asked as jaylyn and i gathered in the living room.
"yeah."
"mhm."
"okay, let's go." kian replied and hopped in the drivers seat, me in the passenger and jaylyn in the back. i didn't really feel like driving.
we all sort of sighed when we pulled into the hospital parking lot. i felt weird and uncomfortable. i was ready to break down any minute now.
we entered the hospital and checked in, making our way to her room.
we walked in to see her eating and watching spongebob. she lit up once she saw the three of us.
"hey, guys!" she seemed so happy for someone preparing to go to a mental hospital.
"hey, cam." we all eventually said.
i sat on the edge of her bed right next to her. she scooted over and then pet the bed. "come closer. i missed you." she pouted.
i sighed. "i missed you too." i wrapped my arm around her and then kissed her head.
"jc?" she looked up at me after a while of silence.
"hm?" i glanced down at her fragile body and intertwined our hands.
"how long am i gonna be in there for?" she said and i didn't know what to say.
"uh, it could be uh, weeks, months, years possibly." i finally said.
she sighed. "i'm sorry guys. for putting you through all of this. splurging my problems on you like you knew what to do. no offense, truly." she shook her head.
"you have nothing to be sorry for, cameron. if we felt as if we didn't want to help you or deal with your problems and issues we wouldn't be here right now. but we are, because we love you and care about you very much." kian said and rubbed her leg.
she turned over to me for reassurance as i nodded.
"and, we all have problems. everybody just handles them differently. everyone's different." jaylyn pitched in.
"right." i said. kian and jaylyn said it better than i ever could've.
she looked at me and then at kian and jaylyn before resting her head on my shoulder.
"you guys mean so much to me, thank you. for everything." she said.
the doctor eventually walked in, ordering us to help her get ready to leave. so we did, and it was extremely depressing.
we soon finished. she sat in a wheelchair as the doctors wheeled her out to the hospital van, us following behind with her one suitcase and backpack.
when we finally got to the van, she turned around her wheelchair and just stared at each other for seconds until kian finally spoke.
"well," he said as i snapped out of my daze and turned to her.
"i'm gonna miss you, baby." i said, leaning down to hug her when she stood up; poorly, but still stood up.
she engulfed me in to a hug before whispering into my ear with her arms still wrapped around me: "i love you, jc. don't forget that my love."
i blinked a tear and squeezed her like my life depended on it. "i love you too, cameron. always." we pulled away and went back in for a short, yet passionate kiss.
she gave jaylyn and kian hugs before sitting back down in her wheelchair.
"i love you guys. i'll..." she turned to look at the van and then back at us.
"i'll see you soon." she sadly smiled and turned around her wheelchair so they could lift her in to the van.
i turned and sobbed into my bestfriend's shoulder, he rubbed my shoulder and back and kept telling me she was in the right and that she was going to be okay.
"i know, i'm going to be able to visit her." i wiped a tear and turned back around towards the van to the sound of a window rolling down.
she poked her head and arm out the window. she held out her hand to me.
"don't let go." she grinned slightly and so did i.
"never." i replied as the van pulled away. i began weeping and running, still holding on to her hand until we reached the main road.
her hair was blowing in the wind, her eyes barely open from the strong wind hitting her face.
we eventually tore our hands apart, "i love you! always!" i yelled.
"always!" she yelled back.
as i stood in the middle of the busy road, i fell to my knees and screamed.
i began reminiscing on every moment we had together, the good and the bad, blocking out everything going on around me.
"jc get out of the road!" kian and jaylyn both yelled.
that was the last thing i heard before everything went blank.
well that was it! i hope u guys enjoyed it ;). publishing the prologue for the sequel soon. :) this book was really fun to write and ya lol idk what to say k bye!!! -em
