      Vivian's P.O.V

Just as I had finished my donuts and was about to walk upstairs, I heard a knock on the door. This of course set off Baxter and within seconds the whole house was filled with loud an obnoxious barking.

"Baxter! Would you please calm down!" I yelled and grabbed his collar to hold him back as I opened the door.

There stood Yeah-Yeah, and boy did he look like a nervous mess. Once Baxter saw him he stopped struggling and simply sniffed him before walking back inside.

"Back so soon, are we?" I ask jokingly. He smiles.

" Yeah-Yeah well I was wondering if you... if maybe you could... only if you wanted to.." He rambles incoherently.

"Yeah-Yeah what is it?" I say gently.

" Well I was wondering if you maybe wanted to go swimming with me and the boys. I mean you totally don't have to. I mean it's your choice. Sorry I've never asked a girl to do anything, especially hang out with me," He says the whole thing quietly but gets even quieter at the last sentence. Though I still managed to hear him

" And what boys would these be?" I question.

He lightens up before saying," Oh yeah, well there's Squints, Ham, Timmy,Tommy, Bertram, Kenny, our new addition Smalls, me, and lastly Benny."

"As cool as they all sound, I still don't know who they are," I tell him.

"Yeah-Yeah that's right sorry. Umm they're all right there," he says and points a finger at a group of boys standing in front of my house. How did I not notice them before??

My eyes scan all of them. They're all quite different from each other, but the one thing they have in common, all their mouths are open. Well besides Squints and... the boy with baby brown eyes and tan skin. My eyes stray on his for a few seconds before I turn back to Yeah-Yeah.

"Yeah, sure. I'll go," I answer him. He smiles brightly.

"Kay-kay we'll just wait out here," he says and I slightly turn back inside, but I stop.

" I'll be out in a minute, but boys you should really shut your mouths, wouldn't want any flies getting in now would we, " I say loudly before I turn back into my Grandma's house. A smirk on my face.

I quickly race up stairs, Turning down the hall that led to the bedroom I was staying in.

Once in the room, I go to my suitcase. I quickly unzip it. The sound making me shudder. I don't know why but ever since I was little I've always felt the urge to shudder when I hear a zipper being opened and closed.

Anyways, I pull out the red and white swim suit that I usually where when surfing, but it'll have to do.

I strip down and put the bathing suit on. It fit perfectly aganist my hips and that why It was my favorite.

After I make sure it's secure on me, I slip on my shorts again. (I know that the bottoms in the picture are pretty much shorts but just imagine it as high -waisted bikini bottoms) while walking back to the door I realize that I only have my bikini top to cover me, so I sprint back to the suitcase and pull out my dodgers jersey. I slip it on and walk down stairs.

Baxter yips at my heels once I reach the bottom of the stairs. I walk towards the kitchen where I find a pen and flip over the note my Grandma wrote.

   'Dear Grandma,
Thanks for leaving a note and some money. I met a couple of friends and they asked me to go swimming with them. Hopefully I'll be back by the time your home.
        Love,
       The greatest Grandaughter ever!'

I finished the note and left it on the table for her to see. With that I grab my P.F.flyers and slip them on.

"See ya later Baxter," I call out and then open the door where I find Yeah-Yeah right where he was before.

"Hey," I say and turn around to close and lock the door.

"Hi and I totally forgot to ask yah, how old are you?" He asks.

I turn back around before saying," Oh yeah, I'm 13. How about you?"

"Me too! So is Benny, Ham, Bertram, and Kenny. Squints and Timmy are 12. They're turning 13 this year though. Smalls is 11 and Tommy's 10," he says.

"Awesome," I say and it becomes silent.

"Hey Yeah-Yeah here's the pair of shorts, catch!" Someone yells and before he can even turn his head a pair of cut off jeans is thrown at his face. I laugh at his suprised expression. He just playfully glares.

I look to see who threw the shorts. It was the red head.

"Hey princess, I'm Ham," he says and walks up to me and Yeah-Yeah.

"Princess, really? What's up with you guys and nicknames?" I ask jokingly.

"It's kinda our thing, I'm Kenny, Kenny Denunez," the boy with dark skin states. He adds a wink at the end before shaking my hand.

"Ooh look at Kenny, tryin' to get the lady! I'm Bertram," a tall boy with round glasses says. Kenny smacks him on the upside of his head with his baseball cap. Bertram winces but smirks. The rest of the boys walk up. They all crowd the front porch. The ones who introduced themselves are looking around the porch.

"I'm Timmy and this is my little brother Tommy," the next boy says.

"Tommy," repeats the boy, " You can call me repeat though."

I nod and they walk towards all the other boys who are now fascinated in the porch swing. Then comes the last two. The boy with baby brown eyes slings his arm around the shoulder of the smaller boy.

"Excuse my friends behavior, I'm Benny. And this here is Smalls," he says confidently.

"Oh its fine actually, they were actually friendly about it, so it's all good. And I'm Vivian," I say. I turn my head away from Benny, and look at Smalls.

"H-hi," he stutters out. I smile. They seem pretty cool.
