Roy sat back a moment, watching as the white car behind him pulled out and left the station. He was alone again under the steel roof. Rain pelted the top, thunder crackling loudly in the atmosphere. Ed must be scared shitless. He sighed, starting up his car and avoiding Maes' warning. He continued driving away from Edward and Riza, heading down the empty highway 52 East. He hadn't drove a mile and a half before he slowed under a bridge, his right tire popped. "God damn this shit." He pulled over, getting out and shivering at the sudden air chill that hung around him. Gravel shifted behind him and he swung his hand around, ready to snap his fingers. Now he knew he was seeing things.

"Why did you leave, Roy?" Edward looked up at him, golden eyes clouded like he last remembered them. His hair was up in a low ponytail, his signature white hair tie nearly invisible. His face was red from crying, tears staining his cheeks. Roy lowered his hand, scooping the small boy up in a hug.

"I'm so sorry, I should have told you and it was an idiot move and --." He stopped when something pinched his neck, everything turning grey. He could no longer see color, only shades like a black and white television. "Envy." The palm tree head of pitch black hair laughed, catching a falling Mustang before he could crack his head open.

"That's my name." The Ouroboros Sins member smiled, replying to his name with a snarky comment. "How you been, Colonel Bastard?"

====================

"When I find him, he's fucking dead." Riza snarled, her gun clicking back together after she fitted the pieces together for the fifteenth time. Edward was curled up on the couch, his head in her lap while his torso was over Sophie's knees.

"He said he needed to clear his head. Give him three days, then go after him." She was slowly calming Hawkeye, petting Edward's hair softly. It was keeping him calm, especially since he wanted to scream.

"It's my fault." He whispered, voice scratchy from crying. He had been so stupid to ask Mustang if he loved him. Of course he didn't. He was just helping him. But all those kisses... that promise. Ed buried his face into Fia's torso, hugging his arms around her waist.

"Honey, it's not your fault." She made a sign for Riza to call Alphonse and get him over here. Riza nodded, walking away quietly. She pulled her phone out, shutting the bedroom door as the line started to ring. "Mustang's an asshole. It's his fault."

"What do you need Riza? Is Ed okay?" May answered Al's cell while the younger Elric raced after their older daughter. She had their younger one on her hip.

"He's fine but Mustang escaped the coral." She sighed, sitting on the bed as Riza continued speaking. "Ed keeps thinking it's his fault but he won't tell us why. Fia wanted Al to come over, see if he could talk some sense into his brother."

"Hold on, I'll ask." May pressed the phone to her shoulder. "Hey sweetie?"

"Yeah?" He asked, walking in with a giggling five year old swung like a sack of potatoes over his shoulder. "Who is it?"

"Hawkeye. Mustang's gone. Ed thinks it's his fault. Can you go talk some sense into him?" She told Riza to hold on one more minute while awaiting her husband's answer.

"Yes of course. Bring the kids. They can play with Hayate and Bella." He sets his daughter down, rubbing her dirty blonde hair softly. "I'll take the truck, you bring the car." Al dug the keys from his pocket, throwing them to his wife, who caught them.

"He'll be there in a second, he'll be in a deep green pick up. I'm coming in a light blue Sedan."

"See you both in a few." Riza hung up, the line clicking to disconnect. May shoved the phone in her pocket, fixing her shirt over her mom jeans - or so Al liked to call them. Her daughter Lizzy looked at her curiously.

"Was that Riza?" She watched her mother put her little sister on the bed with some pillows before following her around.

"Yeah, uncle Ed is having a bad day." May pulled out Lizzy's raincoat, telling her to put it on. She found her own and draped it over her arm. "And Roy's missing or at least gone somewhere."

"Want me to feed the cats before we go?" She smiled softly at her mom, who returned it gratefully. "I'll take that as a yes." She skipped away while May put the baby in a small pink coat and put her in a carrier. Al's truck started up and pulled away just outside so she got her keys and went into the front room. Her flats fitted to her feet just as Lizzy finished putting the cat food away. Patty and Mattie were eating away happily. Well, as happily as a cat can be.

"I'll meet you at the car. Get your shoes on." May called as she went to the door and opened it. The overhead stretched out to the car and she was able to walk out without getting wet. With the baby inside the vehicle, she got in the driver's seat and made sure Lizzy locked the door. She was wearing closed toe sandals.

Getting into the front seat next to her mom, she buckled in. "Ready!" She smiled, looking at her mom with a hopeful smile.

"Good, gave the cats extra?"

Liz gasped. "What kinda pet friend would I be if I didn't?!"

Comic relief saves me... right? Sorry but I really wanted Envy in here somewhere. But I have BIG plans for this story. See you next chapter!
