So this oneshot was inspired by foreverinmymind12. Thanks so much, you're amazing!

Gwen Stacy groaned as yet another sigh from above advertised the upcoming school prom. She just wanted May twenty-fourth to come and go- with as little emotional pain as possible.

She hadn't always been this negative towards the high school tradition- Gwen had actually looked forward to it when she was younger. Like every other ten year old girl, she had watched High School Musical 3 and raved over the prom scenes- making it her absolute goal in fourth grade.

Alas, her plan changed, and she hadn't really given it any second thoughts. Gwen had planned on staying home and binge watching TV as she ate ice cream from the carton- something she seemed much more appealing than sqeezing into a tight dress and smashing her feet into heels.

That was until she started dating Peter.

He had never really asked her to the prom, but they were dating, and it was implied. Gwen had already started looking for her dress, and her thoughts were only consumed with the upcoming dance.

Of course, her plans were altered with the whole 'lizard attack."

Her father had died, and Peter had promised- thus ending their relationship, along with her prom plans.

Groaning, Gwen walked into school- two days before the prom. A couple was making out near her locker, and she found herself having to squeeze through them to even get to her locker. Rolling her eyes, Gwen grabbed her books and decided to head outside to try getting some reading done.

Bad idea.

Do you honestly want to know how many crying girls Gwen saw as she passed by the bathrooms? Like, come on! At least they had boyfriends- who cared if they were a little late in the asking?

Realizing she was sounding like a boy crazed teenage girl, Gwen shook her thoughts away.

Settling herself at her normal park bench, she opened her book and tried to read, but her thoughts were far from the words on the page.

_ _ _ _

After witnessing eight making out couples, five boys asking the girl, and one break up, Gwen was ready to be done with school for the day. Shoving her books in her locker, she left the school empty-handed. Sure, she had homework, but Gwen knew she could easily catch up on it some other night. Right now, she just wanted to be as far away from school as possible.

Making her way home, Gwen noticed a parade of people crowding near the New York bridge. Confused, she walked that way, and almost fell over at what she saw.

There, written in webs, three words were engraved.

Prom with me?

Gwen felt tears fill her eyes as she read it, not noticing the strong arms engulfing her until Gwen's feet lifted off the ground.

She let out a small shriek before wrapping her arms around Peter's  neck, allowing him to effortlessly guide her through the sky, before landing on the roof of the building.

They stood there, staring at each other, until Peter spoke. "So..."

"So...?"

Peter rolled his eyes, "You know...the message."

"Oh, that!" Gwen exclaimed. "Hmm, I'm having a hard time deciding."

"Gwen..." Peter whined, brushing his nose against hers.

Ignoring his puppy-dog look, Gwen asked, "You know that boy Max?

"Um...yeah, from science?"

"Mmm mmm," Gwen nodded, and tried to stop the sly smile from creeping its way onto her face. "He already asked."

"WHAT?!"

"But," she continued, ignoring his outburst. "He actually didn't- sorry bug boy. I had to."

"You're just mean," Peter said grinning, pretending to back away.

"Aww, Peter," Gwen spoke.

"Does that mean you're going with me?" Peter asked, hope gleaming in his eyes.

Looking down, Gwen pretended to think, before looking up and smiling vroadly, "Yes, Peter. Yes!"

Peter matched his smile, before leaning down and pressing his lips against hers.

"It will be amazing, I promise."

Gwen smiled, "It will be a night to remember."
