Delirious awoke to the bright sun seeping through the windows of his room. He stretched out, a big smile on his face as he remembered what the evening would bring. "Man, I can't wait for tonight!"
"Good," a voice came from his doorway and he turned his head with a smile.
"Marcel! What are you doing here?"
"Well you left the door unlo-"
"I never leave the door unlocked." Delirious rolled his eyes, still smiling.
"I know, just messin' with ya." His brother grinned at him and motioned downstairs. "Waiting."
"Yeah, I'll be there." As Marcel left the doorway, Delirious went to clean up in the bathroom and quickly ran down the steps and into the kitchen where a breakfast fit for a king sat on the table. "Damn! You're spoiling me! " He laughed, his mouth already filled with food as soon as he sat at the table and looked around the room.
"Cartoonz, too? Hey guys!" He grinned in delight and finished the first plate of eggs. "What's going on?"
"Well," Marcel started. "Since tonight is the big night, we thought we'd tell you you're gonna be leading the main force tonight. So...sort of a promotion for our little brother," he said, tousling his short hair.
"Are you guys serious? That's fucking awesome! But where will you guys be?"
"We're always right behind you, don't worry about us. Just do your job."
"And I have your little toys ready for later," Cartoonz said with a smile.
"You mean the...the little...sticky bombs?" Delirious asked excitedly.
"You bet. And I'm almost done working on the final product of another detonator."
"Yes, Luke! Give me all the bombs!"
"That doesn't sound safe at all," Marcel laughed.
"Hey, I wanna have fun when I do this." He turned to Cartoonz. "What is it?"
"It's like a disc you throw in. It has stall time before you throw it, just keep your hand on the button. Once it lands, it shoots out oxygen-"
"And then there's a gigantic explosion!" Delirious exclaimed, eyes shining as some syrup dripped down his lip. "You're a genius Cartoonz!"
"Nah, I stole the idea from a movie. Decided to make it real."
"I don't care, you're a fucking genius."
Delirious finished up his breakfast buffet and sat back in his chair, rubbing his stomach.
"Alright, Jonathan." Marcel clapped his hands together. "Ready for some pre-heist training?"
"Try me," he said with a grin.
"You know the drill," Cartoonz said as he stood, heading out of the room and into a stairway that led down to his basement, the other two following.
---
It was just a few hours before call time. Marcel and Cartoonz had left to prepare their gear, leaving Delirious at home to shower off the blood and sweat from the long training session.
He had just about finished slipping into his blue sweater when a vibrating noise came from the desk. He looked over and saw his phone, Vanoss' ID showing up on the screen.
"Hello?"
"Delirious?"
"No, Vanoss, this is fucking Terroriser."
"Oh shit, wrong number."
"You bet your a-" the call ended and Delirious stared the screen for a few moments before breaking into laughter. Vanoss called again and he answered, hearing his laughs through the line.
"What's up, Vanoss?"
"You wanna hang out before the heist? Maybe a snack?"
"I haven't really had lunch. We could go do that."
"Sounds like a plan. I'm already at your door, by the way," he said through the phone, sounding sheepish.
"Geez, stalker. I'll be there in a bit." Delirious grinned and hung up, and grabbed his mask off the shelf to hang over his head as he opened the front door to see Vanoss standing there with his aviators over his eyes.
"Mr. Stalker, welcome." Delirious chuckled.
"Mr. Clown, get the fuck out here." Vanoss pointed to the car. Delirious grinned and pecked his cheek before running up to the car and sitting himself down. Vanoss turned with a blush on his cheeks and headed into the driver's spot. He paused before stepping on the pedal to look at Delirious with question but the man in blue had the mask right over his face.
As Vanoss started driving down the road, he lifted his head in the air and sniffed around, a sweet, fresh scent hitting his nose.
"Did you take a shower?" he asked, glancing at his friend.
"Yeah. Marcel and Luke came over for my train-"
"For your training, I got it. Do they really push you so far?"
"I mean...it's not that bad. It's not hard. It's just a lot of work." He grinned at him from behind the mask. Vanoss just rolled his eyes and they made their way into a restaurant for lunch.
---
After eating, they had driven back to Delirious' house to sit at the porch, watching people come and go as they talked to each other.
Vanoss had his hands behind him as he stretched his legs out over the front steps. Delirious was sitting beside him, elbows on his knees as his gray blue eyes tracked his surroundings.
"And you know, I've wanted to try it ever since," Vanoss continued, shrugging.
"Dude." Delirious looked at him, eyes saying "are-you-serious" behind the mask. "You do realize there's no turning back from a stunt like that."
"I'm always up for a challenge!"
"Evan. You will die."
"Well, thanks for making that blunt...And since when did you turn down things like this? You always do stupid stunts!"
"Because I know I can actually pull them off. An amateur like you shouldn't be doing these things."
"Oh, Jonathan, amuse me, please. Go ahead." Vanoss rolled his eyes as he waved a hand in the air. "Since you're such a daredevil...I dare you to...run across the street as soon as the first cars that appear on each side of the road drive by."
"That's like telling me to jump off a cliff and make it to another ledge a hundred feet away." Delirious' North Carolina accent returned thickly and pulled a smirk from Vanoss.
"Come on. Just once."
"If I die, this is your fault," he said as he stood up, cracking his knuckles and rolling his neck as he got ready.
"Fine. I'll use my spooky magic and bring you back to life." Vanoss laughed, but got no response from Delirious. "Dude, you there?"
He watched as his friend became terrifyingly still as he stood by the road, not even his jacket seemed to wave in the small breeze. Vanoss stared on as two cars came speeding down the road and he felt regretful towards his decision of making Delirious take the dare.
"Wait- Del- Delirious!" He shouted as his friend suddenly bolted down the street with the two cars passing covering his view.
For a split second, he thought he had stopped breathing and time had slowed until a blue figure stood waving and jumping from the other side. And also flipping him off.
Vanoss sighed and shook his head with a laugh, watching as his friend jogged back over the empty street.
"Dude, I swear you died."
"Well. Obviously I'm alive! Nothing can kill me so fast."
"Oh, look at you, Mr. I-won't-do-stupid-things."
"Ah, fuck off. As if you could have done it any better. You have anything else you want to challenge me to?"
Vanoss paused, pondered, and a thought came into his head.
"Kiss me."
"What?"
"I dare you to kiss me."
"I mean, we've already kissed before, but...you know we can't do it outside...not with...anyone watching."
"I thought you didn't back down from a dare. You won't be killed here."
"No, but I'll probably be dragged away and killed then." Delirious scowled beneath the mask and Vanoss caught the dip of his eyes, sighing.
"Fine, fine. Don't kiss me. But-"
Vanoss was interrupted by a loud beeping, jumping from his spot. Delirious looked at him with a snicker and picked up his phone.
"Yeah? Already? Call time's damn early this time around...he really needs to pr...okay...yeah, whatever. I'll be there. Bring what? Why? Doesn't he...okay, okay. See ya." Delirious put his phone away and stretched out, making to go into the house.
"You leaving already?" Vanoss asked with a frown.
"Yeah. Marcel's doing some speech or something. It's probably stupid," Delirious replied with a laugh. "Hold on right here. I'm just gonna grab my bag."
Vanoss nodded and watched as Delirious disappeared into his house, tapping his foot impatiently on the step. It had been a good five minutes of boredom and anxiety when Delirious finally returned.
"Okay, I'm good to go. I'll see you tomorrow if I'm not in jail," he said with a grin.
"Yeah...yeah I'll see you." Vanoss swallowed hard, but kept a smile on his face. 'But you might see me sooner than you think...' he thought with a crippling fear.
"Okay. Well....bye." Delirious turned and walked to his car.
"Wait!" Vanoss quickly called, reaching out to grab his hood just as he made it to the driver's door. He spun Delirious around and hugged him tightly, causing the older male to nearly stumble over.
"Uh, you know it's just one night. It's not like we're never gonna see each other again."
"I know...I just...just in case."
"In case of what? At the most, I'm just gonna sit in a cell and eventually break out or get bailed. At the least, I might break a few necks in there."
'And that's what I'm afraid of.' Vanoss couldn't shake off the feeling. 'One of them might be me.'
"Just be careful, okay?" Vanoss said, his voice cracking and pulling a laugh out of the other.
"Me? Careful? Yeah, whatever."
"I'm serious, Delirious."
"And that rhymed."
"Delirious."
"What?"
"Really. Be careful."
"What are you so worried about? It's not like you don't do these kinds of things- except alone. Like Batman."
"God damn it you...idiot." Vanoss lifted his mask and pressed a kiss to his lips. Delirious made to pull back but kept still.
The masked man smiled and pulled Vanoss a little closer before he pulled away and brought the mask back down over his face.
"I'll be careful. You take care," he said with a smile before settling down in his seat. Vanoss nodded, his face tinted red as he backed up onto the sidewalk and waved to him as he drove off.
"Now. Time for me to get ready for my not so big entrance."
---
A good hour had passed of Marcel giving- as he called it earlier- a stupid speech. It was the same crap he said before and now he's just recycling it. Again.
Delirious rolled his eyes, finishing off his glass of water. He was sitting with Cartoonz and Marcel up at the front of the room, spacing off and imagining what the heist would look like tonight.
Once the (stupid) speech was over, he stretched out on his chair and they got themselves ready.
There were three teams, each of the brothers being the commander.
Delirious had the smallest with a four man group, enough to get in, get the money, get out.
Marcel and Cartoonz had the bigger, six to eight man teams as backup. They had the heavy artillery and machines waiting for the cops and anyone who wanted to get in their way.
They briefly talked over the plans and headed out to the garage where all their cars and equipment were stored.
"Alright," Marcel started. "Delirious, you know what to do. We left a car for you just behind the building for when you guys need to get out. We'll be waiting around. If something happens, you know the signal. If we see something, we'll alert you. You remember the code?"
"Yep. All right here," Delirious said, pointing to his head.
"Okay. You're still cool with keeping the mask on?"
"Marcel..."
"Just kidding, kiddo. Come on. Let's head on out. Take your decoy."
Delirious and three others headed into an old looking car they had taken near the junkyard. It was a common car, nonetheless. People wouldn't bat an eye at you in the old thing.
The large door at the end opened and Delirious started up the car, watching as several headlights flashed on around them and suddenly pulled off into the night.
Several minutes later, after some quick surveillance checks, Delirious had parked the car just by the parking lot of the bank. He looked up and found the lamp post he was near, signaling a quick flash from a shard of glass he had in hand and counted softly to five- the amount of time needed for Marcel to cut the security cameras.
"Go, go, go!" He hissed at the three others as they ran towards the building, the timer in his head counting down for the cameras to return to normal. They made their way to the back, standing on either side of the emergency exit.
If everything was calculated correctly and no plans were changed, one last employee would be walking out in approximately ten seconds.
They readied themselves, Delirious' hand up as a holding signal. His breathing slowed and he kept a eye on the door, an ear focused on the slightest sound of a key.
There it was.
Delirious dropped his hand and they immediately grabbed the young male employee and drugged him. He would be knocked out long enough for them to escape.
He made sure that the others had tied him securely and had one of them carry him over his shoulder as an emergency hostage.
The four carefully made their way inside, listening for any sounds that would alert to other presence.
They snaked their way down the halls until they found the control room and pulled on their gas masks, throwing a sleeping gas into the room. They watched as the two guards fell onto the floor and quickly went in to disable the cameras entirely for a good twenty minutes.
"Okay. Ronald, you're with me. Jack and Bower, get our backs and watch yours. We have all the codes needed to unlock the safe and the devices needed for voice recognition and fingerprints.
"Now," he said with a nod of his head. "Let's go."
---
As Delirious' team was heading through the building, Vanoss had plans of his own. He was there earlier than their group, managing to avoid flashlights and footsteps, just narrowly missing one of the bodyguards. He thought he would have been dead on the spot.
He was laying on the roof, having placed a small camera chip on Delirious when they kissed. He felt bad, but it had to be done if he was going to head in when there was an army waiting outside.
He watched as Delirious and his crew moved swiftly through the building, all masters of their art in heists. They moved professionally as a group, and he had to admit this was impressive for his friend to pull off. He never thought he'd actually see this from such a clown.
"Wait," he heard Delirious' speak. "Here it is, here's the safe...now...uh...you two wait right there. Ronald, take these and open the door. I have some unfinished business. Just call me when you get in. I'll give you three."
"Yes, sir."
There was a sound of cracking and he watched Delirious enter another room- an office it looked like. He sat in a chair, laying his feet up on the desk as he shrugged his jacket off.
Vanoss' eyed widened when he realized Delirious was looking straight into his camera.
"And whoever you are...you have five minutes before I call my boys on you. You better disarm."
'If only you knew' Vanoss thought in a panic as he hesitantly made up his mind and shut the camera off, opening up the roof door to the stairs, and quickly heading down.
That's when he reached the main floor and tripped, and suddenly the building was blaring with alarms.
"Fuck." Vanoss groaned and got to his feet, bolting down the hall.
---
Delirious placed his jacket down when he saw the tiny camera switch off. Whoever had placed it there was stupid enough to not realize they could detect it.
He suddenly looked up when the building's alarm system went off.
"What the fuck was that?!" he exclaimed as he slipped back into his jacket, pistol in hand as he barged out of the room.
"I dont know, sir. Alarm suddenly went off. Couldn't have been us."
"Okay, whatever, is it open?!"
"Yes, sir."
"Well don't just stand there looking at me, get the fucking cash!"
"Yes, sir!" The three ran in as Delirious followed just behind, pressing on the earpiece he had.
"Marcel!"
"Jonathan, what the fuck is going on?!"
"We have an unscheduled guest."
"Well find that bitch! The cops are going to be here any second!"
"We're getting the money, now!"
"Hurry up! Fuck, they're here. That was faster than usual. Then again this is the big prize. We got you covered! Just get out!"
"Roger! I'll see you back at base!"
"Go!"
He heard the click of the phone as it dropped and immediately heard gunfire from outside. He rushed the guys that were with him, grabbing as much of the cash as they could to stuff in their bags before they ran out to bail. They were deep in the building and had to find their safe route out. They had studied the building well enough to know any vents or passageways to reach the final point where the car lay waiting for them.
They were about halfway through the first route when two men suddenly appeared out of nowhere, guns aimed at them. Delirious shot one, but noticed he only staggered back.
"Vests!" he called back to his team and they all started going to the legs, arms, and heads.
An explosion was heard from the side of the building as more men ran in. Delirious spotted their own guys slipping between them and suddenly people started dropping to the floor.
"Okay, split! You all know your routes! I'm taking the long one! Go!"
Delirious watched as his guys ran off in different directions and kept taking the one he was on, his hand at the ready of some of the bombs Cartoonz had made him, including a few of the new ones he had made.
He saw one of Marcel's guys catch up to him and jog just a bit ahead when he saw someone on the floor, rifle aimed at them.
Delirious caught the reflection of light on familiar eyes and shoved the guard down, looking at him with apology in his eyes. "Sorry! I tripped! I got this guy! You head on back! I'll be fine with the gun he got!"
The guard looked at him suspiciously before throwing something into the hall and ran out, mouthing a word to Delirious.
"Shit!" Delirious pulled his gas mask on and watched as the familiar figure started falling back onto the floor, hand over face, landing with a thud. "Oh...fuck..." He looked around as he neared the body to confirm his suspicion.
It was Vanoss, in the flesh, and knocked out.
Delirious groaned and picked him up, throwing him over his shoulder. He radioed in his guys as he continued on his route.
"Guys, I'm dropping the cash out by the car. Take it and haul ass. I have some business."
"Are you alright, sir?"
"I'm fine! Now just wait, okay?"
"Yes sir. Bravo and Charlie are confirmed here, sir. Just waiting on Delta."
"Okay. Good."
Delirious found the doors he was looking for and burst through each. He was near the exit when he heard several footsteps behind him and saw the flash of a badge.
"Last resort!" he hissed out, throwing the oxygen filled bomb on the floor and jumping for cover, holding Vanoss tight.
Moments later a loud explosion burst the wall and Delirious covered his ears from the ringing pain in his head. He pushed himself up off the rocky ground, opening his eyes as his vision cleared and flames were licking at him. He yelped and picked Vanoss back up, trying to remember where they had parked the getaway car.
He left Vanoss against a wall and ran over with the bag, throwing it into the back. "Alpha is confirmed. Where's Delta?!"
"We don't know, sir. He might have been caught up in the back."
"God damn it! Go find him! And get out of here! Come on!"
Delirious ran in with one of the men as they passed dead bodies and found someone laying on the floor with a large bag in their arms.
"Bower?!"
"Delirious...?" he called weakly.
"Oh, God, what happened?"
"I think I've been shot..."
"No...no no, come on...come here. Ronald, take his other arm. We have to leave!"
They made it out as fast as they could to the car. Delirious quickly pulled the first aid kit out of the back and lifted the shirt of his wounded colleague.
"Fuck....okay...just...hold on..." He was lucky he had medical training. It wasn't the easiest, but he knew what to do.
He quickly got his friend cleaned and put the gauze on the wound, ordering one of them to keep pressure, drop the money, and bring him to their specialized doctor who had dropped from the military and was now hired by Marcel.
"Wait, Delirious, what about you?"
"I told you I need to take care of something. Just tell Marcel okay?"
"Yes....yes, sir..."
Delirious ran back to where Vanoss was still knocked out and looked around, spotting what he knew was his girlfriend's car.
He dug into Vanoss' pockets and found the keys, slipping him gently into the passenger seat and buckling him in before he jumped into the driver's and sped off.
---
Vanoss woke up with a slight headache and a bit of a nauseous feeling. He sat himself up on his elbows and looked around the room he was in, taking in the entire familiar sight and smells- and a certain someone laying beside him. He looked down at himself and saw that he had several bandages wrapped around him on different parts of his body- mainly his abdomen- and a couple stitches.
'He couldn't have done all that, could he?' Vanoss asked himself, looking down at the sleeping man. 'Otherwise, there's more to him than I thought.'
He wanted to get up and leave for home before his girlfriend- soon to be ex, he decided- found out he wasn't home, failed the mission, and...wasn't home. What could he do, she was too possessive for someone who was a complete slut. He was glad he never actually did anything with her- just bragged white lies.
Instead, he decided to scoot in closer to Delirious and wrap his arm around the bare, very nicely tanned, ink covered skin. The instant heat that travelled between them made him want to pull away but he only got closer, almost like there were magnets pushing them together, until he was practically spooning the other.
It felt nice, enjoyable, something he realized he wanted to do forever. He could literally just lie in bed with Delirious for the rest of his life without a worry. Well, maybe grab food and use the bathroom. But he could seriously just lay here forever.
That's until Delirious stirred from his hold and he scooted back, watching as the man sat up and rub at his tired eyes.
Delirious turned his head towards Vanoss and smiled at him. "Hey, you alright?"
"Yeah, just a small headache. What about you?" Vanoss asked, spotting several wrapped areas.
"I'm fine." Delirious turned his body fully so that he was facing Vanoss. "But now...why the hell were you there?" His tone was suddenly serious, smooth, and Vanoss knew he couldn't hide anything from him.
"My girlfriend handed me files that happened to match your heist last night."
"So she's the one...huh? The one that's been breaking into our stuff...shoulda known I couldn't have ties with someone like you."
"Woah, woah, woah. You're just gonna associate me with her, now? I didn't do shit! I just followed her orders!"
"And that was the first wrong thing you did! You followed her, not yourself!"
"As if you don't do the same!"
"No, I do the exact opposite! This is who I am and what I live for! They are my brothers and I never leave family behind. Because they actually care for me!"
Vanoss glared at him before averting his gaze and shut his mouth. Delirious was right. He actually had people who cared for him compared to himself.
He looked back at Delirious and was suddenly shoved down onto the bed in a heated kiss. The killer clown's face, he realized, was clear of paint and he could see every fine detail of its perfection- including the scars.
His hands were pushed and held above his head and he watched as Delirious moved his way down to his neck and paused, looking back at him with a smile.
"I still need more answers."
"I ain't giving you shit."
"Oh...well I guess this will," Delirious rubbed his hand hard against Vanoss' growing erection and he yelped, glaring at him again.
"I can't say anything! I swore to her!"
"Well forget her, we can take her out. But why didn't you tell me?"
"Look, I'm the one who put the camera on your jacket. I didn't want to tell you because...I knew you wouldn't have stopped your brothers. You would have stopped me and I kind of didn't want to let my girlfriend down."
Delirious looked hard at him, his gaze narrowing until his hand suddenly stroked him hard again.
"Guess I need to interrogate you some more..." He attacked his neck and pulled a moan from Vanoss' lips as he tried to protest but couldn't. He honestly wanted this. He wanted Delirious to touch him like this so much. He was moaning like an idiot, gasps coming out broken as Delirious continued to travel all over his body and press against him.
"Hey!" The two on the bed shot their heads up when a shout came front he front door. "Jonathan? Jona-" The voice stopped as Marcel stood in the doorway with Cartoonz right behind him."You...you little bitch," Marcel spat out when he noticed Vanoss.
'Fuck,' Vanoss thought, his mind racing as he tried to find an excuse before he was murdered on the spot.
