10 | BITTERSWEET × REUNION
A YOUNG BOY WAS CHAINED TO THE WALL, SHIRTLESS, and his body was covered in markings from the repeated whip slashes that his skin had encountered. Hours passed but the tortured never stopped, instead, each hit became much rougher than the previous. However, the boy's body can withstand pain, after intense training with his older brother and father to perfect his skills and durability. Being an assassin required adaptability, overcoming unforeseen events, and endurance.
The boy's eyes were dead, drained of life, and the emotions that made him feel alive. He was drained of his hopes and his wants. He wanted to escape his reality and hang on to the light that cleared out the darkness that kept him from pursuing his desires. When attending the Hunter Exam, Killua never intended to make any friends. Hell, he didn't even know it was possible, given his status and his awful personality. Those friends are the reason he was able to think for himself, instead of being bound to his family's wishes. Sadly, he was shackled to the Zoldyck's name and chained to their beliefs.
"Apologize!" the man belted, clenching his bullwhip.
"Sorry," Killua apologized, glancing down at the floor below him, to create an apologetic atmosphere that would ultimately deceive his brother into thinking he showed an ounce of remorse from purposely stabbing both him and their mother.
Milluki grinned at his brother's response. He achieved the unthinkable; having THE Killua apologize. It was unheard of, but perhaps, the countless hits worked wonder into molding the disrespectful child into a respectable one. "Was that so hard, little brother?"
A smirk formed on the young boy's lips and the words that escaped his lips infuriated his brother.
"....that I didn't stab you hard enough."
With those words, the older brother continued his assault on Killua, using his bullwhip as a means to bring despair to the conceited child. More bruises coated his body, and blood even began to seep out through the cuts. Yet, Killua remained unapologetic and refused to back down. He had endured much pain in his life, this barely holds a candle to it.
