Threats

March 30, 2012. Friday. Raine had to go on her own for a lunch meeting because Jerry had to attend to another business meeting. He had walked her down to the driveway of the building. Her car came near with Rogel on the wheel.

Rogel had already opened the door of the car for her. She was to enter the car when Jerry called her back. "You haven't given me a kiss yet, sweetheart."

Just as when she had turned and walked back at him, her car exploded.

Rogel was badly wounded. He had been rushed to the nearest hospital immediately.

Raine wasn't hurt.

The police had dealt on the case. They had asked them if there was anyone who could possibly want Raine dead.

They didn't know of anyone.

Because of what happened, Jerry had hired two bodyguards to look after Raine's safety. She didn't approve much of the new situation she was into but she had no other choice but to especially when the case hadn't been solved yet.

Somebody had planted a bomb on her car. The mastermind really wanted her dead.

The following week, they had attended the baptismal of Anthony and Serena's son. Jerry stood as one of the godfathers.

On the reception that followed, Serena had gotten a chance to talk to her.

"I heard about the bombing incident. Is it already solved?" Serena had asked.

"The police are really finding it difficult to solve it. They haven't gotten any lead." She changed the topic of their conversation. "Your son is very healthy and handsome."

Serena confided, "Yes, but Anthony is still in doubt if he really is the father."

Raine was upset with her ex-boyfriend, "Why? Only a blind man would not be able to see his resemblance with his son."

"He had caught me fooling around once. But nothing really happened with me and the man. Anthony still cares for you, Raine."

Raine informed her, "But I don't. I had ended our relationship years ago."

Serena asked, "Why?"

Raine's answer, "He's not the right man for me. Serena, I'm now happily married with the man I truly love."

Serena stated, "He had sent you flowers last Valentine's Day."

Raine acknowledged it, "Yes and maybe you should ask my husband what I did to the flowers."

"I don't have to. It's really quite obvious that you had come to dislike Anthony so much."

Raine was already upset with the way their conversation was going, "I really don't want to talk about him anymore, Serena. I really never wanted to be here but then Jerry asked me to. Let's just forget everything in the past, Serena."

"I'm sorry if I had upset you."

Jerry came near to join them.

Serena left them.

"Do you want to go home now?" He had asked her.

"Yes."

Jerry told her, "I had heard everything, Raine."

"I told you, being here is not a good idea."

Jerry said, "That's why we're leaving now. I don't want you to get upset more."
