Nothing Last Forever

Chapter 3

Abby woke to the sound of her alarm. Slowly she sat up and whipped the sleep from her eyes before reaching over to turn it off. She checked at her phone. " No texts yet" she said. She climbed out of bed and head towards he bathroom. Grabbing her phone  to bring with her. She turned on one of her favorite playlist and jumped into the shower.

30minutes later she walked out of the bathroom in back into her. She hurried to get finishing getting ready. She didn't want to late again. After she had done her hair, makeup, and gotten dressed she checked her clock to see just how much time she had until she needed to leave for school. It read 7:25. she had about 30minutes to spare. " I'm making good time today" she thought. 

She decided she would text sammy and see if she was ready too. She reached into her back pocket and pulled out her. 

Abby: Hey you up and ready?

She sent the text and put her back into her pocket. She walked into the kitchen to get herself some breakfast before she left. " Good morning" her mother said as she walked into the kitchen. " Hey mom" she said grabbing a pop tart. She sat down just as her phone started vibrating in her pocket. 

Sam: Almost. Be ready in 5. 

Abby: KK.

" Was that Samantha." her mom asked. 

" Yea. I asked if she was ready to head out. She'll be done in 5" she answered.  

" Alright sweetie have a good day. And don't forget it's your dad's weekend" said her mom as she headed out the door for work. 

" I won't' abby called after her.

Abby closed her locker and turned to face her best friend. " This is awesome. I'm super excited for you" Sammy said, handed abby back her phone after her and toby's text conversation. Abby hadn't felt like explain it, so she just let her read it for herself. " I'm excited to" Abby said. She was trying to contain her excitement, but by the huge grin on her face she wasn't doing it very well. 

" Oh crap I just remember me, you , and Kevin supposed to go shopping on Sunday. I'm so sorry" she said, her smile fading slightly. 

" Don't worry about girl. Me and kevin will go. We can all hang out next weekend" sammy said flashing her friend a reassuring smile. 

" Are you sure. I can text him and see if we can do it a different day" abby said.

" Yeah i'm sure. I know kevin will understand. Besides I know how much this means you" sam answered.

" Thanks girl sammy your the best" abby said pulling her friend into a hug.

" No problem". 

Just as abby was about to say something the bell rang. " Well I'll see you at lunch" she said. 

" Later gator" sam answered. 

The two friends gave each other one last hug before heading to their classes.

Art abby's favorite part of the day even though it was her first class. " Hey Kevin" she said pulling up a seat next her friend.

 " Hey girlfriend" he said turning to face her. 

" So I have some good news and some bad news. Which do you wanna her first" she asked. 

" Bad news. Then when I hear the good news I'll feel better" he said jokingly.

Abby just laughed at her friends comment. " Well the bad is I can't come shopping with you and sam on Sunday" she said with a grimace. 

" Aww why not' Kevin asked. 

" Well thus is where the good news comes in. I can't make it because toby asked me out on a date" she answered. 

" Shut up. You one lucking ass bitch abby" said Kevin. 

" I know. I'm super excited" she said a smile on her face. Kevin laughed at his friends enthusiasm.

" Omg you have to let me and sam help you get ready for your date" he said.

" Yes please. I wanna look good for the date and you both know I'm bad at dressing' she said motioning to her out fit.

" Oh sweetie your not a bad dresser" Kevin said, " You just need a little extra help sometimes. And I  happen to be just the person to help you".

" Wow so humble" abby said jokingly. 

" Well you know humble is my middle name" Kevin said. Abby  laughed. " Kevin is so dramatic" she said to  herself. 

" Yea sure" she said sarcastically. She tried to hide her laughter.

" Ok ladies. We need to discuss Sunday's plans" Kevin said as sam finally joined the group at their lunch table. 

Sam just laughed. " Well I she your no less prepared as always" she said. 

" Hey don't you judge me. I like to plan things. Now be quiet so we may discuss" Kevin said. 

" Yes ma'am" sam answered laughing. 

" So we are now all aware that abby has a date on Sunday, so she can't join us for shopping. And since i'm already headed your house I think we should help abby get ready for her date". 

" Well duh. Of course I'm gonna help my girl out. As if you had to even ask". 

Abby smiled and pulled her two friends into a bear hug. " You guys are the best" she said reaching up and whipped a tear from her cheek. She had know idea how she had earned such great friends.

" Duh" they said together causing all three of them to break into laughter. 

" So where is this date going to be" kevin asked.

" Were going out for ice cream" abby answered.

" That's I good first date".

Abby laughed at her friend. She had always enjoyed Kevin's unique personality. And having a gay friend defiantly had it's perks. 

The three of them spent the rest of lunch just chatting away. After awhile the bell rang and lunch ended. " Well I'll see you guys later" abby said as she threw her lunch away and head to her next class.

" Finally the day is over" sam said as she walked up  behind abby.  

" Yeah this day was super long" she answered shifting her books to her left arm. 

The two friends talked as they walked to sam locker. " I gotta go put these books in my locker before my arms fall off, but I'll see on Sunday" abby said as sam was closing her locker. 

" See ya" sam said waving good bye and heading for the parking lot. 

Abby waved backed and head to her locker. Just as she was about to close it and head for her car toby walked over. " Hey abby" he said leaning up  against the locker next to her. He smiled at her and she almost melt. " Hey" she said. She tried to hide her joy at talking to him, but judging by his not so subtle laugh she had failed. " Can I walk to your car with you" he asked flashing her another smile. 

" I would love that" she said. Toby laughed again and then she realized what she had said. She started to correct herself but he stopped her. " Its ok. That was cute" he said. He closed her locker for her and lead her out to the parking lot. Abby knew where it was but she let him lead the way anyway. " This is me" she said stopping in front of her car. 

" Nice car" toby said looking over the red vehicle. 

" Thanks my dad got it for me" she said blushing. 

" I'll text you." 

" Ok."

" See ya" he said placing a kiss on her cheek before turning and walking to his car. 

***Finally done with chapter three. Sorry it took so long to update I was busy this weekend. I'll update chapter 4 soon****
