Nothing Last Forever

Chapter 4

Abby pulled up to the garage. Her dad was sitting in his office. 

" Hey dad" she said walking into the office and tossing her bag on a empty chair. 

"Hi sweetheart" he said pulling her into a hug. " How was school"? 

" It was ok" she answered, " so you ready to head home"? 

" In a bit I gotta finish doing a oil change on this one car and then I'm done for the day" he answered.

" Ok well I have homework to do, so I think i'll meet you back at the house" abby said. 

" Ok. See you in a little bit" her dad answered. Abby grabbed her back pack and headed out the door.

Abby as just sitting down to start her homework when her phone beeped. She pulled it out of bag smiling when she saw who had text her. It was toby.

Toby: Hey

Abby: Hi

Toby: What you doing 

Abby: Fixing to start homework. How about you?

Toby: Just chill'n on my bed and thinking about how much I can't wait to see you ;)

Abby: Can't wait to see you either :)

Toby: I g2g i'm hanging with some of my friends 2night. 

Abby: Ok bye

Toby: Later beautiful. 

Abby almost screamed when she read the last message. " I can't believe he just called me beautiful" she said. She sat silent for several minutes thinking about why he would call her that before she finally decided to start her homework. She reached down and pulled her back pack off the floor . She pulled up one of the playlist on her before getting out her math book and a sheet of notebook paper. " I hate math" she grumble. 

" I'm home" she heard her dad yell up the stairs. A few seconds later her door opened and er dad was standing in the door way. 

" What you working on" he asked. 

" Homework" she answered.  

" Ok, well I was thinking about doing pizza for dinner you cool with that" 

" When have I never been ok with pizza" 

" Good point" he said closing the door and walking back downstairs.

Abby sat at the down on the couch and dad handed her a plate. " Thanks" she said taking the plate of pizza. The sat in silence and watched tv while they eat. It was awkward sitting there and not talking because abby always felt so comfortable with dad. Looking up the clock abby realized that is was almost 10 o'clock. " I think i'm gonna head back upstairs and finish my homework"she said standing and heading for the stairs. " Good night sweetheart" her dad said. " Good night".

See walked up there stairs and into her. " Uh I hate homework" she grumbled. She sat down and got back to work.

Abby placed her finished homework back in her bag. She tossed he bag on the floor and walked over to her dresser pulling a pair of shorts and favorite tee shirt and changed out of the clothes. She flopped back down on her bed and pulled out her phone. She pulled up one of her playlist plugged in her headed phones and pulled out her drawing book. She listen to the music and sketched, but she didn't really have any idea what she was drawing. When she had finished she realized it was a picture of toby. 

" Why did I draw that" she thought. Just then her phone rang. " Hello" she said pulling out her headphones and putting it on speaker. "Hey." She gasped when she realized it was toby. " Did I surprise you" he said chuckling. " Sorry I thought it was sam" she said.

 " Is sam that girl you where talking to at the end of the day" he asked. 

" Yup that was Sammy" she answered.

The two of them talked for a couple hours before abby started getting tired. " Well I think I'm gonna go to bed, I'll talk to you tomorrow" she said yawning.

" Goodnight" toby answered. Abby hung up the phone and set it on the bed next to her.  She grabbed the Tv remote and settled in to bed.
