In a while.

Veldrean succumbed to Lyra’s touch and embraced the kiss even more, then something hit him. “I will never redeem myself.” He pulled away and stared at the blonde female who rolled her eyes. “I’m serious.”

Lyra enveloped her slender fingers into his snow white hair, “It’s okay... fight in their name.” Veldrean rolled his eyes in a similar fashion, Lyra gaped at him and slapped his bicep. “I’m serious!”

He smirked, “I know you are.” He inched to her lips but she pulled away and folded her arms, “Are you seriously going to be like that?”

She nodded and Veldrean slid across the stone floor and smirked, “Fine, goodnight.” He faked sleep and Lyra stared at him in anger. She stood up and sighed and approached Veldrean, he smirked mentally as she knelt to his level.

“Sorry...” She whispered and combed his white locks, he snapped open his eyes and turned his head.

“I’m the only hard ass here.” Lyra smirked at his statement and he kissed her lightly, “And.” He kissed her neck, “You can’t tell Kalanor.” He withdrew for a second and Lyra looked at him puzzlingly, didn’t Kalanor want Lyra to be with Veldrean?

She tilted her head to the side confused, “He wanted me to be with you.” Veldrean stared at her bewildered.

“He did?”

She nodded and Veldrean stares at the wind surrounding them that is growing fiercer, “Ly-“ The surroundings distort and Lyra holds onto Veldrean scared for her life, he stared at the waterfall ahead that seemed to be the only exit.

He escaped her and stood up, they were in a cave and it seemed to be oddly bright out there. “Veldrean?” She gripped his wrist before he took another step, “Where are we?” Veldrean bit his lip confused.

He took another step escaping Lyra and touched the waterfall, it’s oddly warm and Veldrean looked down for a moment. Suddenly his claymore appeared in his hand, he held it up and the waterfall fell to the side, clearly seeing the lush forest ahead. Suddenly a thought entered Veldrean’s mind, “I know where we can run to.”

Lyra stood up, “Shouldn’t we wait for Kalan-“

Veldrean turned to her, “After we return to The Mirror Distance, we’ll go to Vergil. That’s where I grew up, behind my home was a secret nymph society... One of my brothers should... be there... if The Daemons didn’t destroy it.”

Lyra stared at Veldrean who smirked, “Veldrean... You have a brother?”

He nodded stiffly, “Iric, he’s older than me... he should be... twenty seven now.”

Lyra shifted uncomfortably, “How old are you?”

Veldrean smirked, “Twenty Five.”

She nodded and looked away, “I’m twenty one.”

Veldrean sat down next to her, “That’s pretty young, you moved away from your parents... at what age?”

She sighed, “Sixteen... Mum and Dad didn’t like River, so I ran away with him... they died not too long ago and gave me the house... but River didn’t want to move there... saying it was old and full of stupid stuff.”

Veldrean furrowed his eyebrows, “I hate River.” Lyra sighed and rested her head on Veldrean’s shoulder cautiously, “He’s a low life.”

She hushed him and he stared ahead, “I know he is... I was too in love with the idea that he could change.”

Veldrean scoffed and turned away, “Princess, you can’t change a man.”

She stared at him, “The man I love now doesn’t need to.”
