28 • prom part 2

Stacy

"I don't like that one, it's too short." I tell Tora as she scans the racks of the store for my prom dress. Prom is in two hours, and Tora says I have to get a good outfit, get my makeup done, and fix my hair up.

And apparently, she's paying for all of that.

"How about I pick out a bunch of dresses and you try them on? We have to hurry, Stacy." Tora responds. I nod as she grabs certain dresses and bunches them together, shoving them in my hands. I grab them and go into the dressing rooms.

The first one is a black one that reaches my knees. Tora says it looks nice but I shake my head.

I then try on the second dress, a silk red one that goes to my ankles. No.

The last one is a mermaid-style dress in a lilac color. It hugs my curves but not in a revealing way, and I like it. It shows my calf with a slight slit at the bottom, and the rest drags onto the floor.

"I like it." I say. Tora nods and I go back into the room and take it off, putting it in our grocery cart.

"Now let's go get your makeup done."

Luke

Tonight's the night. It's prom, the moment I've been waiting for since forever.

"Who are you going with?" I ask Calum.

"Someone special." He responds, constantly picking at his hair.

"Do you know who Michael is going with?"

"Some chick named Casey."

"And Ashton?"

"London, the girl who is good at sucking dick." I nod and continue to look at myself in the mirror. Do I look good enough for tonight? Will everyone have better or worse outfits than me?

I look at Calum who is dressed in a black and white tuxedo. He's wearing a cast under his left sleeve from the car accident when he tried to turn the wheel away. I on the other hand, have multiple bruises and cuts that got stitched up, but I only had my cast on for a few weeks, while Calum has his until the end of the year.

"Do I look good?" I ask Calum. He nods.

"Do I?" He questions. "There's someone I really want to impress tonight."

"Who?"

"None of your business. But do I look good or not?"

"You look great Calum. As always."

"Thank you."
