Chapter 7

MYA'S P.O.V

* alarm goes off *

"well, here it goes", I thought to myself as I stumbled to the bathroom to brush my teeth . I flat ironed my hair & changed my clothes to look presentable . I wore my light blue Pumas, a greenish-blue shirt, & ripped jeans .

Momma: "Are you ready to go ?!", she shouts so I could hear her voice in the back of the house .

Me: YEAH IM READY !!

I rolled my eyes as I dragged my feet to the front door of the house .

Me: I'm not ready to go, there will be a lot of people I don't know going on the trip and I'm not good at making friends .. * whining *

Momma: girl shut up, you would be fine .. just have fun & enjoy your time up there . I wish I could've did what you're able to do this young .

I gave her a light smile & kissed her on the cheek . I walked out the door so she could set the alarm on the house . When she walked out I told her to unlock the car door and we got in the car .

Momma: Put you're seatbelt on because I'll whoop your ass if you give me a damn ticket !

I jumped a little because of the tone in her voice . She looked at me & laughed .

Me: Mommaaaa ! why you be faking like that ? *laughs*

Momma: "I just had to crack a little joke with you since you're leaving .. that's all", she said with a delightful smile .

We arrived to the meet up place & I clutched my bags in my hands .

Me: Well here it goes .. I hope it's worth it .

Momma: "You're gonna be fine, have fun for me ", she says as she kisses my forehead .

I get out the car & walked with my head down nervously . I gave the big buff man my bags so he could put it in the van . I looked around at my surroundings . "Damn this is a lot of people", I thought to myself . I grabbed my small black bag & hopped in the other van . They had about 8 other people in the van & 3 sat on the same seat as me, including my cousin Jadah . Jadah is a red, chubby girl with braids . Then someone I worked with at camp, 'Joel', got in the van and messed with me hilariously .

Joel: "Wassup chipmunk", she said with a smile .

Me: Umm, hey assface, what you been up to ?

Joel: "Woah that language tho kiddo", she busted out laughing . "You good" lol .

We laughed for about 5 minutes & then the man got in the van started driving . I put in me headphones and stared out the window until I fell asleep . The long drive made me feel a little drowsy & the seats had a scratchy feeling that made me uncomfortable .

Me: Jadah let me lay on your shoulder, my back hurts omg . *rubs back*

Jadah: "Hell no", she said as she gave a quick mug .

"Fuck that bitch", I thought to myself as I had put my earphones in my ears . I waited five minutes and then I slowly fell asleep . "WE MADE IT TO SAN ANTONIO!", the driver Mr. Dave yelled purposely waking me and 5 other people up . "Ugh Mr. Dave !", One of the passengers said . The people who were awake including me started laughing . I was relieved when he said that . We pulled up to the hotel, everyone got off the van & stretched . The other van arrived behind us then the everyone got their bags .

Me: Finally .. *yawn*

Joel: "Imma go straight to bed when we get settled in girl, I'm tired as fuck", she said as she rubbed her eyes .

Me: "girl me too !", I said as I grabbed my stuff & followed the group inside .

We had a meeting downstairs & introduced ourselves. I found out my chaperone for the hotel room was one of the people I am cool with . We got settled in & fell asleep .
