You and Calum had been close buddies since birth. Both of your mothers had been in the same lamaze classes and they built a friendship while pregnant with the two of you.
Ever since then, you and Calum were unbreakable friends.
Today you were going out to the movies with your new boyfriend, for the first date. He was Calum's teammate on the soccer team at school, and the two of you met when you were waiting for Cal to get out of practice so you two could walk home. Calum had gotten a girlfriend too, and he thought it'd be cool if you all went to see a movie together.
You were never really into double dates, but since it was put out on the table, you decided to go with it.
After you got ready, you waited in your living room for Calum, his girlfriend, and your boyfriend to show up at the front door.
Your mom came over and sat down next to you on the couch.
"Are you ready?" She asked, smiling at you.
"Yeah... I'll finally get to know what it feels like to go on a date," you giggled a little.
Before she could reply, the doorbell rang, and you sprang up, bolting towards the door. You opened it to find Y/BF/N standing in the doorway, grinning at you.
"You look beautiful, Y/N," he said, looking at anywhere but your face.
You furrowed your eyebrows a bit. You just had skinny jeans on and a grey shirt, with your black jacket hanging on your arm. You didn't think your outfit was that spectacular.
"Thank you," you said, as he took your arm and led you out to his car, where Calum and his girlfriend had been waiting.
When you got in on the passenger side, Calum's girlfriend looked at you for a moment with a confused glance, and then waved at you, smiling just a little, and you waved back.
"You're the one Calum has told me so much about?" She asked, trying to hide that she was shocked at your skin color.
"I guess I am," you giggled.
Calum was sitting right behind you, and he cleared his throat.
"Hello to you too, Cal," you laughed, turning around and rolling your eyes.
The ride to the movie theater was interesting and the least bit awkward. You guys had been talking about different things, like the teachers that you hated at the school you all attended, and you and Y/BF/N talked about how you first met, which seemed to make Calum a little tense. You just shrugged it off figuring that it was something else on his mind.
"Ooh, Calum," his girlfriend gasped, "we should tell them how we met!"
Your smile faded and you felt goosebumps all over your body. You didn't know why you were acting like that all of a sudden, but you pretended to be interested in her story.
"I totally didn't get science," she started, flipping her brunette hair.
Who doesn't? You thought to yourself, rolling your eyes.
"And Calum was my tutor. By the end of the month, he had asked me to be his girlfriend. It was so sudden, but I'm glad it happened." She smiled at him, before pecking him on the cheek.
He half smiled and intertwined his fingers with hers. You felt an upset pit in your stomach as the two of them got all "lovey-dovey" with one another.
You pulled into the movie parking lot and parked. The four of you got out the car, and Y/BF/N wrapped his arm around you as you walked over to the ticket booth.
