[A/N: pretty sure that's not even the right way to put this title but I dont give a flying sack of ballz

It was move in day finally, and you were a bit more anxious than usual. School started in a week, and you didn't want to be the slightest minute late, because you were internally and physically competing against your roommate for the bed by the window, and you knew she was going to be there early anyway; you ran on colored people time, the usual.
You didn't know how to feel, going to a college so far away from home. Sure, the thought of not washing dishes and no more lectures about sitting around the house doing nothing made you ecstatic, but you were still going to miss your family like crazy.
Now, you were a few minutes away from your new college, a faint smile on your face as you gazed out the window, your earbuds on full blast as you got a sudden flash of nostalgia. The window that was separating you from the outside world put on quite a show for you; you watched the trees whipping by, and the passing cars of unfamiliar faces coming and going. The sun was making it's peak over the horizon as you shifted in your neck pillow, trying to get comfortable again.
"Y/N, we're almost there. Are you excited?" your mom turned around and smiled at you from the passenger seat.
You nodded and stretched out a little bit, yawning as your eyes fought against you for trying to stay awake all this time.
Your dad kept his eyes on the road ahead, not saying much at all. He hummed along with the old tunes on the radio, tapping the rhythm on the steering wheel. He had been warning you about the college boys ever since graduation, and he wanted you to be on P's and Q's about any guy that came in contact with you on campus. "Freshmen are always the goal. They want em' as fresh and as young as they can be!" He'd say to you often. You only ignored him though, knowing that all those four years you spent being single were finally going to be over when you stepped foot on college grounds.
You turned into a wide road, with a lovely statue front and center, water running down it like a manmade waterfall. You sat up and gazed amazingly at the sign, with your college name on it, that was planted in the green grass. As you drove up the road, you could see the large parking lot, and the hundreds of people unloading their dorm necessities and school supplies. It was pretty much full already, even at seven in the morning.
You guys found a nice parking spot and you hopped out, groaning at the sight so many people.
I can kiss that window-bed goodbye. You rolled your eyes.
You made your way to the trunk and you opened it, revealing all of your boxed up things. You grabbed a box, and your parents grabbed a few as well, the three of you walked all the way to your dorm.
It wasn't that long of a walk, and before you knew it, you were already inside the lobby. The fresh vanilla scent entered through your nose, causing a warm sensation inside. You got onto the elevator, two stacked up boxes hiding your face.
"Y/N, what floor is it again?" Your mother asked, her index finger grazing over the buttons.
"The third floor," you grunted, shuffling the boxes in your arms.
The elevator doors shut closed and you felt the familiar stomach-churning feeling as you went up two stories. When the doors yanked open, you rushed out, still trying to get to your dorm room first.
