Chapter 2: Settling In

Chris

Seems like ain't nothing cool about being real
No one's honest about what they feel
Take a hoe and try to treat her well

I'm gone, baby

I sat on my bed as I drew my name in graffiti letters on my notepad with colored pencils. I usually sing when I'm really bored, it's a habit. "That grass ain't greener on the other side, I been there. Oh, yeah. I been there." I stopped singing as I felt something staring at me. I had a cold feeling next to me that sent chills all over me. I looked up and saw nothing there.

Then I almost shit bricks when I heard, "Chrissss.....", in a ghostly voice. It sounded like a girl's voice and it was in a whisper.

"Aight, who the fuck is there?!" I freaked out.

I watched as I studied him closely while he sung and drew. I noticed how the way he sang, he was calm. I've been appearing in his dreams lately, just to see what it is like to be inside of his mind. He has a beautiful mind and soul and I would just love to take it. But that would have happened long ago if I hadn't been studying him. Trust, I would have killed him a long time ago, but there's just something about him that's telling me not to. Well at least not yet.

"I know what you want but you not gone get it..." He sang. I move closer to him as I studied his chiseled face. He seemed very cute now that I thought about it, and I wanted to talk to him.

"Chrissss....." I called his name. He got scared and started to freak out so I guess he heard me.

I wanted to touch his face so he can know that I wasn't going to hurt him. That was until she walked in: his girlfriend. I was starting to feel jealous but I shook it off. I am a ghost. I shouldn't be feeling this way about someone who is alive when I am not.

But I did.

"Chris, are you okay? You look scared." She said as she walked through me and sat down on his bed next to him. That is one pet peeve of mine: people walking through me.

"Uh, y-yeah. I'm fine, Christina. How'd you get here?"

"Well my mom dropped me off and your mom let me in here." She kissed him, getting me sort of upset. They started to make out on his bed, but they stopped briefly when Chris asked her if his mom was still home, and she shook her head "no".

Things were getting heated, and so was I. I knocked the picture that he had of her on the wall down, making the glass break, which caught their attention.

"Chris, was that my picture that fell?!" She panicked. Yeah, and? You're ugly anyway.

"Yeah, it was. I can fix it later. Come on. Let's finish."

"B-but h-how'd that happen?"

"Baby, chill. The nail was probably weak."

"O-okay." They started back up and I just disappeared to my getaway place.

This was only the beginning.

I was dressed in all black with a snapback and sunglasses on as I was in a maze. I started to walk so I can get out until I saw something white that was flowing in the wind. I started to follow it.

The dress piece kept flowing until I finally caught it as it started to drag me with it. Then, I saw her: the girl I've been dreaming about.

She looked so sexy in her dress. She looked at me and smiled before motioning her finger back and forth towards me and her. She was telling me to come closer to her. I came closer before she put her arms around my shoulders. She looked deeply in my eyes as I did the same.

"What is your name?" I asked her, then she just disappeared. I started to look around myself to see where she went, but she was gone.

"Chrisssss...." I hear her say. Suddenly, I just woke up out of my dream. I looked around until I began to feel someone lying down next to me. I looked and there she was. The girl I saw the other day.

She was just laying there, staring at me until she spoke. "Hi."
