Chapter 14: I Saved You

"What do you mean Zahlia is the Queen?" Namo, the Chief Elder, repeats Akasha's words. Akasha had gone to the Elder Committee by herself to explain to them that Zahlia was the descendant of Jayid Malika.

"Namo, when she drank my blood, her reaction was far more different from Elzira, Zorag, and uh, Richie's reactions." Akasha debated.

"Zorag is a self-made vampire, and your sister developed hers by birth. Richie was different because he is a male."

"I am telling you, Namo, she is a descendant of Jayid Malika. I can prove it."

"All we are worried about is what side is Zahlia going to join. She still hasn't made a decision."

Meanwhile, Zahlia and Chris were having a debate of their own. Chris was acting strange towards Zahlia. He had been ignoring her, yelling at her, he was frustrated at her. And neither one of them knew why....

But his heart and feelings did.

"Chris, I don't understand why you are so upset! I've never seen you like this!" Zahlia looked at him strangely.

"You fucked me up, Zahlia! I mean, you killed me, you brought me to this fucked up ass world instead of letting me go to Heaven! You killed me for your own satisfaction!"

"No I didn't! Chris, I saved you! Akasha and I saved you from that delusional ass bitch! If it weren't for me worrying about you for two damn days, Akasha wouldn't have came up with a plan if I had just let you go!"

Chris felt kind of stupid. He blamed his sudden depression. "Look, Z, I didn't think about it like that. I'm sorry, it's just that Elzira, Vega, whoever the hell she was..." Zahlia slightly chuckled as she tried to fight her laughter. "Anyway, ever since she possessed me, I haven't been feeling right, that's all."

Zahlia and Chris were up close and face-to-face, nearly about to kiss. Their lips were inches apart. "It's okay. I forgive you."

It was a matter of time before Zahlia and Chris attached their lips to each other, instantly causing Zahlia to feel butterflies in her stomach. A spark and strong connection had ignited into both of them.

Once they pulled apart, Zahlia inwardly frowned, but Chris visibly frowned. "Nuh uh, come here. I been waiting for this."

He reattached their lips, catching Zahlia completely off-guard, but she went on with it because she had felt the same way Chris did. She inwardly chuckled because of how Chris said his statement as it kept replaying in her head.

Chris lifts Zahlia up by her thighs and her legs automatically wrap around his waist as the kiss got even more intense. Chris lays Zahlia down on the bed as he hovered over her, never breaking their kiss. He firmly, but also softly, grips her waist as he held her secure, and she suddenly felt safe.

Chris slid his tongue across her lips asking for an entrance, and Zahlia gladly accepted. He gently sucked on her tongue and she did the same once he stopped. The make-out session briefly ended with Chris nibbling Zahlia's bottom lip. She giggled as they continued.

Vega was right outside their window, watching the whole thing. She wanted to cry, but instead she got very and her fangs grew as her eyes turned blood red.

She really wanted to kill Zahlia and have Chris all to herself. Then, she got an idea. She thought that maybe if she killed Zahlia, she would bound her in silver chains to a wall in a prison cell, during her and Chris' second wedding. The chains would melt Zahlia, and she would be dead as a doornail.

"Chris?" Zahlia said as she straddled Chris on the bed as they cuddled. "Hm?" Chris hummed into her neck.

Zahlia was quiet for a minute. "Do you want to be vampire?" Chris' eyes shot open.

"Aw, hell nah, Zahlia! I already done got possessed and all that other weird shit! The fuck?" He ranted as he leaned back into the pillow behind him.

Zahlia was calm, though. "Chris, chill."

"Why you tryna turn me into a vampire now?"

"Chris, if you turn into a vampire, you would have so much strength and power. You would be fast, and possibly even hotter."

Chris furrowed his eyebrows. "Seriously, Zahlia? 'Even hotter'? Do I look like that nigga off Twilight?"

"No, but still. I mean, look at me. I did get a little sexier, you can't lie about that." Zahlia bit her lip in a hopeful way as Chris eyed her body and new features.

"Actually, I can." Chris joked, causing Zahlia to throw a pillow at him as he laughed. "I'm just playing!"

"Well you play too damn much!" She chuckled.

"But, anyway, I-I don't know about this, Zahlia."

"Chris, just trust me. Please? At least you could look young forever, if you want. Vampires age eventually."

"I thought that they could live forever."

"They could, but I was just trying to tell you." She paused. "Please, Chris?"

"I don't want to do no ceremony shit like you did."

"You won't. I could do it right now."

He raised an eyebrow. "Really? Right here, right now?"

Zahlia nodded her head. "Yeah."

Chris thought about it deeply. Even though he would get good benefits off of it, it was still a huge decision.

"Fine." He sighed.

"Really?!" Zahlia squealed.

He sighed. "Yes."
