Chapter 9 || Hurt
{Amberly's POV}
I entered my first period, ready to learn. Obviously. I woke up in a good mood, and it's not usual because I always wake up mad on Mondays. Hate Mondays.
But then it was horribly ruined. Let me tell you why ..
"Hey, Amberly." Said Alyssa. That's strange, I don't really talk to her.
"Hi." I said as I smiled and sat down in my seat. "I didn't know you and Alex broke up." She said as she narrowed her eyebrows. What? Broke up? Um, no.
"Broke up?" I chuckled and took out my Math textbook. "Yeah." She said as she nodded her head.
"No, we haven't." I said as I smiled up at her then looked down at my book. "Oh." She said strangely as she began to walk away slowly, in thought. "Wait." I said as she turned around.
"Where did you hear that from?" I asked as she bit her lip. "Well, um you see, Alexander called me the other day and er well we did things but um, well yeah." She said as she strangled her fingers. "Wait, are you serious?" I asked her, my heart raced like crazy as she slowly nodded her head.
"Uh, yeah." She said as she scratched the back of her head. "When was this?" I asked her as she took in a deep breath. "Saturday." She replied.
"That explains." I murmured under my breath as I looked down at my lap. I was trying not to cry and I succeeded until Dylan tapped me on the shoulder. "Hey, Amb-" he said as I turned around. He saw the defeat in my eyes. The sadness, the unbelievable, the pain.
"What's wrong?" He asked as he sat next to me. "Nothing's wrong, everything's right." I said as I blinked away and tried to distract myself. "Do you want to talk about it?" He asked as he put his hand on my shoulder. Right when I felt his touch, I broke down.
"D-ylan." I sobbed into his chest as he hugged me tightly. His hands rubbed in circles onto my back. "It's okay." He said repeatedly as he patted my back and put his cheek on top of my head.
"It's not." I said as I pulled back when the bell for class to start rang overhead.
"Ms Harris, is everything alright?" Mr. Matthews asked as he stood by my desk and looked at both me and Dylan. "Can we step outside?" Dylan asked as he put his hand on my shoulder. "Go ahead." Mr. Matthews replied as a smile curved on his lips.

"What the fuck, are you serious?" Dylan said as he clenched his teeth and anger flew through his eyes. "Yes." I said as I sniffed and wiped my tears away. I felt the heavy pain in my chest.
"I can't believe he would do tha-" he cut himself off when his jaw dropped, seems like if he remembered something. "What happen?" I asked as he looked at me and held a finger a up. "Wait here." He said as he turned around and began to run down the hall. What is he going to do? "Wait! Where are you going?!" I shouted as he turned back and help a finger up again and after that he disappeared down the stairs.
"Ms Harris, where's Dylan?" Mr. Matthews asked as I stepped into the classroom, again. "Bathroom?" I said as I thought of what to say. "Sounds like you're not so sure about that one." He replied as he looked at me, concerned and suspicious. I didn't say anything so I walked to my desk and sat down.
Dylan never came back to class and I didn't see him after he left to- wherever he went to.

"Bethany." I gasped as I grabbed her arm as she walked into class. "Yeah?" She said as she smiled. She's always smiling and she brought life into my heart after what I heard in first period. I love her a little more for that.
