Cat has given up. When the zombies came, she had to do something that she would consider her worst nightmare. She held on go that strength for as long as she could but it was becoming too much. Maybe 10k can convince her she isn't so alone...

fter we say all those Z'S running south, we just continued to drive for hours and we manage to get into Nevada but a few minutes into that, we had to stop for gas. DOC hits the top of the truck and wakes up everyone. "Ride and shine. We got bathrooms" he says and starts to pump as much gas into the truck that was left. Charlie and warren check to see if there was any zombies. They didn't come back out for a few minutes and we heard a few smashes inside so I assumed they got what was left. "All safe" warren says peeking her head out the door. We all go inside and use the bathrooms.
10k pulls me aside and kisses me. I pull aways and smile. "So how much longer until you get to where you need to be?" He asks. "Not that long. We should be passing through the town and I just need an hour or two" I state and he smiles back at me. "Do you want me to come with you?" He asks. "Uh, no. I gotta do this alone. Thanks though" I say and we walk back out noticing there was no food to stock up on so we leave.
We drive a few more hours until we get to Tonopah Nevada. Doc stops and I get out. "We're gonna go on a supply run. We'll be back in a few hours." C Doc says and I nod. I hug 10k and he kisses me. "...stay safe cat" he says seriously. "I will. Don't worry. This place is a ghost town anyway. I think I'm good" I say and smile. He nods and they drive off.
I walk down the street for about 10 minutes. Still holding my rifle and watching out for zombies just in case. I turn a corner and continue to walk until I reach a house at the end of the road. My house. Well, my parents house. It's where I lived with them and my sister, ky. I had to come back to see it. I don't know why, I just had to. Our family was visiting our grandparents in Michigan when Z'S came. I walk inside and look around. It looked exactly the same. The pictures still hanging on the wall. The pillows on the couch still placed perfectly. The same way my mom put them. I walk upstairs and into my bedroom.
My blacklight hanging on the wall and the pictures of me and ky on my desk from Halloween. A few of the CDs and Records I hung up were on the ground. I picked them up and set them on my desk. I pick up the picture on me and ky in our Halloween costumes and a tear falls down my face.
Suddenly I hear a bang from down stairs. A zombie. I grab my rifle a d head downstairs. I turn the corner into the kitchen and point the gun at it. But a gun was pointing me between the eyes as well. The person behind the trigger was someone I couldn't believe. "KY" I ask quickly. I put my gun down and she puts hers down. "Cat?" She asks shocked. She puts her gun down and I pull her into a hug. She hesitates for a second but then hugs back. "I thought you were dead" I say into the hug. "What? I thought YOU were dead" she says back. We pull away and I smile wider. "Is mom and dad alive?" I ask and looks around. "Cat...cat wait" she says and grabs my arm. "What?" I ask and look at her. "Cat...they didn't make it. Believe me I tried everything. There not coming back" she says. I look down. I guess they really are gone. "Wait...how did you survive? I saw those zombies rip you apart" I say and look at her. "I don't know. All I remember is waking up and seeing mom and dad dead. There were no zombies or anything. It was a ghost town. Same here." She says and grabs one of dads beers in the fridge. I shake my head and she hands me one. "So... How did you get here?" I ask. "When I woke up, I headed south. I found some people who were heading south and they gave me a ride in a plane. They were only heading to Washington so they dropped me here." She says and I nod. We talk for a while and catch up. After about an hour of talking it hit me. "Does the water still work?" I ask. She nods and I raise my hand in victory. "Yes! A shower is LONG over due" I say and go up to take a shower.
After I get out I look in my closet and pick out my clothes. I miss these clothes. I put on a three days grace shirt and black and white leggings. I grab my necklace that my mom have me that said "just keep swimming". I got it from my mom when I was little. Me, ky, mom, and dad would all watch it on movie nights. Finding nemo was out favorite family movie. Any way I go down stairs and see ky had changed into a rolling Stones shirt, camouflage pants and a moon necklace that I gave her.
