I needed to get out of this damn place. And fast. How? I didn't know. All I knew was that the sickos working for BLI were drugging me the past 6 years. Last year, I woke up late and forgot to take the pill one day. I realized how messed up this place really was. I've been planning my escape ever since. I only took the clothes on my back, a few cans of food (I worked in the kitchen), and a ray gun from the vending machines. I didn't stop to think about anything else. My only goal was to run. Run and don't look back.
The time was 11:15 pm. Curfew was 10, so I didn't have to worry about any citizens of Battery City walking around. But the Draculoids guarding BLI headquarters and Battery City posed a problem. Hey, at least I was armed.
"Get back to bed," snarled a Drac on guard. I ignored him and started bolting towards the exit. More Dracs started chasing at me, but I just fired my ray gun. "Didn't think I'd have to use this so soon," I muttered under my breath. I pushed open the doors and ran from the blaring alarms. I shot behind myself once more, just to make sure my work there was done.
Running through Battery City was no problem. I could just shoot at any Dracs that got in my way. Who cared if I was taking their lives? They were lifeless anyway.
As I reached the border of Battery City, though, I began to grow tired. With my last bit of energy, I shot at a Draculoid patrolling the border. I staggered along the road. Maybe I was better off in Better Living Industries...
There was no time to think about that, though, because a Drac caught me off-guard and shot me in the leg. I fell into a bush, unconscious.
