"N-no... I don't want to hear this anymore! Can I see him?" I snapped.
Tears started flowing down my face, and I didn't even bother to wipe them away.
"As you wish"
She led me to his room. There I saw, My two brothers crying. Dad was crying there as well, holding his son's hand.
And there was Chris.
Lifeless, pale.
Empty.
Dead.
"Katelyn..." Murmured my dad as I walked up to Chris's bed collapsing on the floor.
"W-why..."
I looked up at him. His eyes where closed. His face was pale.
He wasn't smiling, like he always did.
Always happy to see me.
That was all taken away, for good.
'D-don't worry Katelyn. I'm not going a-anywhere. You p-promised me that, remember?' He would say.
'I'm not going anywhere...'
I'm a horrible sister.

After that, we went home in silence.
Nothing was heard expect for occasional sobbing.
I promised him, that he would survive and be happy. But I broke that promise.
It's all because I went to that dumb date.
I knew, that my brother was sick yet I still went to a date. Completely forgetting about him.
I should of stay with him, and maybe he would be still alive.
The doctor said that the illness went to his heart and killed him, since it was originally a sickness in the lungs.
I went upstairs and into the hallway, stopping to see his room.
Empty, dark, lonely.
There was no happy little boy sitting there smiling whenever I visited.
No body.
I walked into his room and saw his favourite stuffed bear on the floor that he won at a carnival.
"Look sissy! See that bear up there! Can I try to see if I can win it?"
That was when he was fine...
Until he got the same sickness mom had.
