He just stands there, with his back facing me.
"Damnit!" He yells. "Thats little fucker, I'm going to kill him." I look at his hands that are balled up into fists and I rush up to him.
I spin him around so he's facing me and I take both of his larger hands in mine. "Liam. Everything is going to be okay, I promise. I'm going to find a way to make you not kill anyone."
He looks in my eyes and I can see every emotion he's feeling. Being betrayed by Greg made him mad, frustrated and I can even see a hint of sadness among other things.
Something on his neck catches my eye, a scale, one that I now know isn't a tattoo. He's probably mostly mad so he's shifting. "Please calm down Liam."
"Don't tell me to calm down! Can't you see Mia. There's no way! I've tried everything! I'm going to keep killing people!" I can see tears well up in his eyes but he's too stubborn to let them fall.
I try to calm him down with my hopefully soothing words and after about five minutes it works.
My mind drifts to the trapdoor in the bathroom of the cabin and how it leads to that room with the table, shattered glass and beakers on the shelves. "The room in the basement in the cabin. Is that you..." .
"Trying to find a cure?" He finishes for me. "Yes. That was me but nothing has worked yet." I feel him gently squeeze my hands and it comforts me.
"I'm not the best at science but I'll do everything within my power to help you." I squeeze his hands like he did to me and I see a small smile appear on his gorgeous lips.
"Thank you." He says and I give him a quick kiss.
"Let's go back, should we tell everyone?" We both start to walk hand in hand and I decide to swing our arms.
"I think so," he says. "They deserve to know. Xavier is going to be crushed, they were close."
I frown. "But you're right. He deserves to know." I squeeze his hand again and I see yet another smile but this one instead of a small one is a full blown, hundred watt smile.
"You should smile more often." I say which causes him to raise an eyebrow.
"I smile."
"Yeah but not a lot." I state.
"Fine. I'll make an effort to smile more, just for you." I look up at him just to see that he's already smiling down at me.
"I like the sounds of that." I give him a quick kiss on the cheek and before I know it we get back to the camp.
"I'll meet you back at the cabin?" Liam asks. "I just have to go tell Jackson that we left the stuff there."
"Okay." I respond and he gives me a quick kiss on the forehead before walking away.
I walk to the cabin and open the door. I don't even get one step inside before I'm
bombarded with questions."Are you okay?" Rebecca asks.
"No one else is hurt are they?" Brandon.
"Where's Greg?" That question coming from Xavier makes my stomach do so some kind of acrobatics.
"I'm fine, no one else is hurt and Liam and I need to talk to you guys about Greg." I watch as all three pairs of eyes widen.
"Is he okay?" Xavier asks frantically.
"He's fine. We just need to wait for Liam." We don't actually need to wait for him but I don't want to tell them one of their friends is a maniac.
As if in cue Liam walks into the cabin. "Have you told them yet?" He asks after his eyes meet mine.
I shake my head telling him that I haven't and he sighs, starting to tell them what happened.
"I don't know what to do guys," He says, finishing off the story. "As far as I can tell there's no way to stop this." I take his hand.
"Doesn't your mom own a bookstore Liam? Maybe there's some old books there that can help." For the first time Brandon speaks up and at his words Liam's face lights up.
"Yeah, she does."
