My eyes widen probably to the size of dinner plates and I hear the footsteps of our friends leave the tent.
Did he just say what I think he said? "You what?" Smooth Mia, real smooth.
He takes a few steps so he's only and inch away from me. I look up at him and he says, "I like you."
The anger I was just feeling drains out of my like the water in an unplugged bathtub.
I can't believe this! He actually likes me. "Then why didn't you tell me?"
His eyes don't waver from mine and his gaze is intense.
"Like I said I did it to protect you. I can't exactly control it as you can clearly tell." His gaze falls on my left arm, on the wound and the intensity weakens.
"I'm so sorry Mia I didn't mean for you to get hurt, I didn't mean for anyone to get hurt. Please forgive me." I watch as a few tears fall down his cheeks.
I have to forgive him, he can't control this, he's so sincere. "I forgive you."
Even though he's crying a smile forms on his face. "Really?"
I nod "I do and guess what?"
"What?"
"I like you too." His eyes widen slightly and before he can say anything else I go on my toes, wrap my arms around his neck and kiss him.
The sparks fly as soon as my lips touch his surprisingly soft ones.
Our lips move together in synchronized bliss and it feels amazing.
But sadly one of the best moments of my life ends because he pulls away.
As he looks down at me I see a playful grin start to form on his face. "What was that for?"
"That was to show my affection towards you, I like you too Liam a lot actually." Woah. Where did that come from? I guess that's the first time I'm admitting that to myself and to him.
"Can I ask you something then?" He asks and I nod. "Will you be my girlfriend?"
I smile widely and let out a small girly squeal. "Of course I will!" I give him a short but passionate kiss.
I unwrap my arms from around his neck and jump up and down. I've never been so happy in my life. "Let's pack everything up so we can can go tell the others! We are telling them right?"
He chuckles and says, "Sure."
I kiss his cheek and start to pack things up but my mind is elsewhere.
Am I ready to be in a relationship with a person who has as much baggage as him?
Of course you are just look at him! The small voice in my head says and I do what it says. He's starting to pack things up so it's a perfect moment to stare.
His dark hair, dark eyes, broad shoulder and strong build are gorgeous.
I stop my staring session and help him until we have our stuff and the medical tent packed up.
My arms start to hurt again but I try my best to ignore the small but sharp pain. "We can leave the camp's stuff here I'll tell Jackson he needs to pick it up later."
"Can we just stay here and talk for a bit?" I ask. I want to get to know him.
He smiles. "Sure." He sits down in the grass and I sit beside him.
His arm goes around my waist and brings me closer to his side. I smile widely and rest my head on his shoulder. "So how long have you been... That thing." I don't say monster because I know it will offend him and plus I don't think he's a monster.
"Getting right into the deep stuff are we?" He says with a chuckle and then he sighs.
"Ever since I can remember but I haven't started you know killing people until after the accident. It pisses me off because I have to fucking idea why I do it, I can't control it. I just want to know why it happens."
"Well I believe I can help you with that." An unfamiliar voice says from behind us.
