dear gee,

it's been two days since you left, and i don't understand. i just miss you and the house is a mess and i can't get out of bed without thinking how i fucked up and i want you here in my arms instead of somewhere where I'm not. i want a chance to understand and listen to your pretty voice explain instead of coming home after a 16 hour shift to have your things stuffed in a suitcase and you out the door. you left an address and a shit note telling me that everything was fine. im not man enough to talk to you, I know you need space, but just remember i love you beyond all words. everything's where you left it; your makeup in it's place on the dresser and the dishes you left in the sink, your lipstick and fingerprints stained on the glasses we drank from. i just want you home without a scratch.

- love, frank"

The man dried his eyes, his hands shaking with every step he took around the house. The house was his pride and joy, everything he had worked for surfaced on the small, baby blue cottage. His love decorated it herself; the fresh sunflowers and nerdy D&D paraphernalia more of a reminder of failure rather then companionship. The floorboards creaked as he paced, her voice echoing in his mind with words of comfort and reassurance. Questions were filtered by, but he knew she wouldn't leave him for another soul. Taking a final breath, he slipped into his sky blue uniform, leaving the house locked, an ounce of hope left in his crushed heart.
