Chapter 9

Mackenzie POV

The next day I awoke to my phone ringing. I glanced at the clock sitting on my night stand “dammit” I said it was already 12:00. I picked up my phone and read the words (dad) flashing across the screen. I answered just as it was about to go to voice mail.“Hey dad” I tried to say in a none sleepy way. “Hey sweetheart, were you sleeping?” “no” I replied a little to quickly. “ I was just calling to see how you were doing?“ “I'm fine dad” I said with an annoyed sigh. I hated this part of his business trips. He always called to check up on me when he started to fell guilty about leaving me alone for more then 2 days.

After re-shoring my father that he could end his guilty trip worrying about me and a quick shower. I headed down stairs for some breakfast making sure I had my phone in my pocket because I didn't wont to miss Dmitri call.

Instead of having cereal I decided to cook myself an old fashion breakfast. I made eggs, bacon, and pancakes. I walked over to the table and sat down. Poring myself a large glass of orange juice I began to eat.

Just a I finished I heard my phone ringing. Standing up and walking my plate over to the sink I reached in my pocket and retrieved it. Flashing across the screen was (Dmitri) I smiled and suddenly got butterfly’s. “Hello” I said. “Hey Mackenzie” he continued “ I was calling to tell you I wouldn't be able to hang out today and was wondering if you'd like to come over tomorrow after school and maybe watch a movie instead?” I felt my hurt drop I was really looking forward to seeing him today. “O-oh” I stuttered “w-well that's ok and yeah sure we can watch a movie tomorrow” I said half heart-ed. “Cool” he replied. “Cool” I said, then we both said bye.

I decided to call Henry because, it felt like I haven't seen are talked to him in weeks. He answered on the 3rd ring. “Hey girly girly” he said. “ I was calling to see if you wonted to come over and maybe hang out?”i aked getting streight to the point. I was hoping he didn't hear the disappointment in my voice, but he must have because he instantly replied. “ I”ll be over in a minute” he said and hung up. 15Minutes later he was knocking at my door. I smiled at him when I seen what he was holding in his hand. “ I ran to the store and blockbuster”he said smiling at his accomplishment. I pulled him inside and turning off the lights all in one movement. He walked over to the couch and sat down pulling stuff out of the bags and setting them on the table.

To my surprise he brought a carton of ice cream, and a pack of Oreo cookies. He gave me a choice between two movies. Twilight or Alvin and the chipmunks, I chose Twilight because, I could use a little romance in my life.

After watching the movie and finishing off the last bit of cookies and ice cream. He turned off the TV and turned to me. “So” he said “whats wrong?” I decided to play dumb “what do you mean?” “oh don't give me that” he said “ I heard the disappointment in your voice when you called me so spill” “ fine” I said. “Me and Dmitri were suppose to hangout to day like we did yesterday day” I said with a smile, “but he said he couldn't today but asked if I would come over tomorrow and watch a move with him after school. “and what did you tell him?” half way falling off the couch with excitement. “ I told him yeah.” He jumped up and started doing his happy dance but stopped suddenly. “What” I asked. He plopped back down on the couch while smacking me on the arm. “Why didn't you call me and tell me this yesterday?” he asked. “ well” I said “it was pretty late when I got home, but to my defense I was gonna call you today and tell”

He narrowed his eyes at me before smiling “ so do you like him?” I thought for a moment before answering “ yeah I guess”

We talked for a while longer before he said he had to head home to finish up some homework he didn't get done. I smiled and walked him to the door. He gave me a big huge before leaving “I'll see you tomorrow” I called out to him as he climbed in the car. He pulled out of the drive way and honked his horn before driving away.

It was only 7 o'clock and I wasn't tired so I decided to watch some TV before heading off to bed. I flipped through the channels for find nothing on. Just as I was about to give up and turn the TV off “south park” came on.

I ended up watching 4 episodes before heading off to bed. I changed into some sweat pants and a tank top and climbed into be snuggling under the covers I drift off to sleep.
