Cassandra and I arrive at the hair salon and meet Aubrey at the entrance.

"Hey, Aubrey," Cassandra says.

"Hey, Aubrey," I say.

"Hey, Cassandra. Hey, Scarlett," Aubrey says. We walk in. We say our names to the woman at the counter.

"It'll be just a moment," she says.

We take a seat. "So, how was training?" Aubrey asks.

"Terrible," I say.

"You won't believe what happened," Cassandra says.

"What happened?" Aubrey asks.

"I got a partner," I mumble.

"A what?" Aubrey asks.

"My mom hired a new teen spy to be my partner," I say clearly.

"But, I thought you worked alone. You're one of the best, you don't need a partner," Aubrey says.

"I do work alone. But, that's not the worst part. Guess who my partner is," I say. She raises her right eyebrow. "Chase Eastern."

"No way. Chase. Chase Eastern. As in the bad boy player in our school, Chase Eastern?" Aubrey asks in amazement.

"Yep," I reply.

"Unbelievable," Aubrey says.

"Exactly," I say.

"It's completely unbelievable," Cassandra says.

"Tell me about it. He's my partner," I say.

"Cassandra Camilo, Scarlett Carson, and Aubrey James," the women from the counter says. The three of us go back. I spent like two hours talking with my usual hair stylist as she did my hair. I didn't come here all the time, just often enough. We talked about life. After we were all done, the three of us walked out. Cassandra got a small trim and light blue highlights. Aubrey got her tips done light pink. I got my hair ombre from my dark brown natural hair color to a caramel color, along with layers.

"So, how do you feel about Chase being your new partner?" Aubrey asked, even though she already knew the answer.

"Well, obviously I'm not happy. I get a partner and it has to be him," I reply.

"On the bright side, your hair looks great," Aubrey tries to cheer me up.

"Thank. Your guy's too," I reply.

"You know what, it's almost five. How about we get some dinner?" Cassandra suggests.

"Yeah, and then we can go shopping," Aubrey asks.

"How does that sound?" Cassandra asks me. They both know who much I like to eat and like to shop.

"Sounds good to me. I could use some food and shopping therapy," I smile and we all laugh. We eat Italian food at Olive Garden and then we head to the mall near by. We shop for a few hours and then we each head home.

"Hey, honey. Love what you did with your hair," my mom says.

"Thanks," I reply.

"I know you're upset about me giving you a partner. But, you need to understand that for this next mission you will need a partner," my mom says as she chops some carrots.

"Yeah but I don't get why Chase?" I ask.

"I didn't know that you guys didn't like each other. But, I know you can put your differences aside and focus. He's a good spy. I know you're a fantastic spy and everyone needs a little help sometime. I know that you're used to working on your own, but sooner or later you're going to have a partner. You're a big girl, act professional. You're strong and smart. You've got this," my mom smiles.
