"Funny you're the broken one but I'm the only one who needed saving. 'Cause when you never see the light it's hard to know which one of us is caving."

When I was younger, i always dreamed of having a sister. Preferably older . I also wanted a brother but that's beside the point.

The point was, I didn't want to be the only one in the house. When my parents were at work all day, I would just stay on the couch downstairs and watch TV and play computer games. Later it turned into reading books and messing with my phone. Anyways, I always needed a distraction, something to take my mind off the boredom I seemingly always endured.

All of my friends had siblings. Most of the time they were younger, but it didn't matter. As I would watch them have arguments over the remote control when I would stay the night, I would imagine a life where I would have that same connection with somebody. The same blood running in both of our veins.

I wanted a sister who would be a good role model and take me out to dinner on school nights and just generally want tospend time with me. That never happened with any of my friends siblings, and I doubted it would have actually happened to me if it was reality in the first place. I could always imagine.

I always had a grudge against my parents for not having another child. I thought they were being selfish when they told me I shouldn't be expecting another sibling. They basically bought me animals to keep me entertained. It was sweet, but I really wanted something that would talk.

When I first met Gemma Styles it was through a photograph. Like, I didn't actually meet her but I still met her in some sense because I was staring at her face and learning things about her from her younger brother in the safety of his apartment. I learned that she was three years older than him, was the spitting image of him, and loved people with all of her heart. Just like him.

I didn't learn that she struggled with an eating disorder.

I didn't learn that she was bulimic and anorexic and spent the majority of her days over the toilet with her finger down her throat. I didn't learn that Harry found out about her illness when he was only twelve years old.

I didn't learn that he had already had his heart broken by the same thing once before me.

So when I first laid my eyes on her, I was intimidated. I was hopeful too, but more or less intimidated. She had faced the same things i was going through and overcame them. I was intimidated by her success.

Harry placed his hands on my hips as I walked over to the sofa. I placed my hands on his and clasped his fingers within my own. We sat down, his arm stretched out behind me on the couch. Gemma sat across from us in the loveseat.

"H, I don't know if you want to stay and listen," I said nervously, staring at the girl across from me.

"I've already left once. I'm not leaving again," he replied softly.

Gemma looked at me with a warm look in her eyes. She had always seemed beautiful to me, form the pictures Harry had shown me months and months ago, but she was even more gorgeous in person. She was wearing an Aztec print sweater over a Burgundy flowy tanktop with skinny jeans and lace up boots. Of course she could pull that off, of course.
