Understanding

"what are you doing?" he asked quietly as he dragged me away.

"what does it look like? I dropped the charges. he's sorry Ross I can tell."

"he hurt you. remember?"

"how can I forget?? you're the one who's always reminding me!!"

"ally-"

"just stop! I'm going to talk to nick. I need to know why he did what he did..." I turned atoud to find that he was already on his way out. "im going to his house and I'm gunna get my answers." I pulled my arm out of Ross' grip and turned around towards my car.

"wait...ally...let me drive you.."

we sat in Ross' car in nicks driveway. "if anything looks bad in going in."

"okay Ross. nothing will happen though. ill be fine." I opened the door and stepped out "thanks Ross."

"for what?"

"caring." I said before shutting the car door.

I knocked on the front door. nick opened it with a smile.

"ally..."

"can we talk?"

"sure." we walked into his living room and sat down next to each other.

"so..what do you want to talk about?"

"I need to know why you did it..the cheating, the hitting, the yelling. why?"

"well I..look there's no excuse for what I did and I feel really bad about it, but my dad left that day. he was having an affair and he just left. I'm never gunna see the guy who taught me how to play football..who got me ungrounded so I could go to my baseball games...who would cheer with me when our favorite team would win a game..never. I was so mad that I went to the park. that's when I saw becca. we used to be friends until she told people that I had a crush on you..she just kissed me. I didn't realize what was happening so I went with it. then I yelled at you and hurt you because I was so mad. I was taking my anger on my dad out on you...I never should have.."

he was about to cry. I hugged him.

"please don't be mad at me.."

"I'm not nick. I get it."

i heard Ross beep the car horn. i slowly pulled out of the hug. "i have to go. if you ever need anything, just give me a call." he smiled.

"thanks." he said as i walked over to the front door. i turned around and smiled.

once i got into Ross' car he asked. "what happened?"

"he explained everything. we made up. we hugged. everything's cool."

"you made up with him?" he asked as he peeled out of the drive way.

"yeah. he had a good reason for what he did and i know he wasn't lying. he was practically in tears."

"so what?"

me and Ross got into a huggeee screaming fight. "i don't know WHY you care about that looser so much!!!"

"because i like him Ross...and if anything YOU'RE the looser." i said as i got out of the car.

"you..like him again?" Ross looked like he was about to cry. he barely choked out the words. i nodded.

"yeah Ross, i never stopped.." i said almost in tears from seeing Ross upset. i spoke in barely a whisper before running into my house.

every things different with me and Ross. nothings the same anymore. all because of nick. i went into my room and sobbed into my pillow.

ROSS' POV

well i just found out that the girl i love still likes her ex.

yeah it hurts. i went upstairs and into my room and cried out of frustration. i walked over to the wall of pictures of me and ally and hit it with my fist then put my for head against the wall and sobbed. i want things to go back to normal. before nick, before the kiss... before i told her i liked her...
