Getting Ready...

"Al, wanna go to the movies?" Ross asked as he walked into my room a few days later.

honestly, I'm really upset that Ross wont tell me who this girl is. i thought we were best friends.

"no." i said as i closed my math book and put it in my back pack.

"wanna go surfing?"

"nope." i said as i picked up my back pack from my desk and put it in my closet.

"the mall?" i shook my head no.

"do you just not wanna hang out?" i didn't answer. "what's been up with you lately. you barely talk to me and you never wanna hang out anymore. what did i do?"

i sighed and turned to face him. "who is she?" i asked.

"what?"

"i heard you and Ry talking the other day about how you like this girl. why wont you tell me who she is?"

he let out a deep breath. "because."

"because why?"

"i just...i can't."

"i thought we were friends, Ross.."

"we are."

"then you should trust me.."

"i do."

"then tell me!"

"i CAN'T!"

"get out." i said and pushed him towards the window.

"are you serious?"

"yeah." i answered coldly and pushed him again.

"fine, if i tell you then...can you please never bring it up again?" i nodded.

"okay..it's Laura. i have a HUGE crush on her...don't tell anyone though!" i felt a little hurt that he said Laura. honestly, deep down i wanted him to say that he liked me...

"okay, i won't say anything."

"thanks." Ross hugged me and i wanted to stay in his arms forever.

"Ross?"

"yeah?"

"why didn't you tell me before?"

"because..i..i don't know. it didn't seem that legit until recently." i pulled out of the hug.

"well if you want to take her to homecoming instead then-"

"no. i want to go with you..if i wanted to go with Laura then i would've asked her.."

"I'M HERE!!" del said as she climbed through my window. she threw her dress on my bed. "let's start with hair.." she said as we ran into the bathroom.

we're getting ready for homecoming together.

"so del, who's the lucky guy?" i asked as i curled her hair.

"Rocky." she laughed.

"really? i always thought it'd be riker.." i joked. we both laughed.

"so, what's up with you and Ross?" she asked as she began to curl my hair.

"nothing, we're-"

"say just friends again. i dare you." i rolled my eyes playfully.

"we are."

"you are not, and you know it!! by the end of the night i can almost guarantee that you'll no longer be single.."

"okay del.." i rolled my eyes again.

"if you keep rolling your eyes then they'll fall out." she laughed. i laughed too.
