Chapter 10... Sorry

   "Girl I'm really sorry for whatever happened that day ", apologized Mary. Stacy did nothing but roll her eyes and concentrated on the Teen Wolf going on in the tv.

She's not mad at Mary because she had strongly opposed to the idea of her going to the party. She was angry because she left her in that mental state . She was upset that Jem had left Boston and moreover the incident that she witnessed was too strong in her mind. All grievances summed up and here she shows out her anger at her best friend. She just doesn't want anyone around her. Mary however did not know why Stacy was upset and went on blaming herself for what Stacy's going through.

Tired of trying to persuade Stacy, Mary grabbed the remote from the side table and switched off the tv. Stacy groaned loudly and retorted ," Why are you so interested in ruining my happy moments?"

"You're not listening to me."

"How could I when there's such an intimate scene going on of Stiles ?"

"Shit", Mary says and switches on the tv and plops on the bed beside Stacy.

After a while Stacy side glanced at Mary and said ," Jem left"

Mary turned to get a full view of Stacy and replied with wide eyes ," You must be joking right?"

With eyes fixed on the tv she replied," Absolutely not"

They both watched tv silently. After the episode was over. Stacy stood up to  switch off the tv when Mary caught her by the hand. Stacy turned around to find her eyes glossy. She immediately held her into a hug . Mary with her head into the crook of Stacy's neck whispered ," How come I didn't know that he's gone?"

Stacy pulled back from the hug and then said," Because he didn't want you to know."

Mary shook her head and said " But why?"

"Do you think one denial is not enough?"

" Wait , did he say that to you ?" Stacy nodded . Mary did not move on with the topic .

They spent the evening doing nothing constructive. Mary went on showing the Facebook profiles of Various hot guys in their school. Stacy really misses school but then she can't possibly join until she has fully recovered. So there they spent their time laughing, giggling and arguing about different stuffs. The fight which they had days back was long forgotten.

" I'm hungry" announced Stacy. " I'll go and have something from the fridge" she added.

"Stacy did you forget that there's something called Chinese takeaway?"

Stay stopped dead in her tracks. She turned around to face Mary with a smirk and then plopped on the couch hugging her and said ," You know me too much"

Mary gave her a beaming smile and stared at her, observing how happy she was. To Mary it was like a dream to see her best friend like this. She had seen the worst of the worst. Stacy recovering from what she was going through was unpredictable. Mary kept that bubbling joy of getting the old Stacy back well hidden . Stacy, on finding her best friend staring at her replied with a grin ," Is anything wrong with my face?"

"Yeah .. um... no . You look like Sponge Bob.", replied Mary with a smug face and satisfied with the disgusting remark which she gave . She knew Stacy hates Spongebob .

Stacy scrunched her face in disgust and remarked " Yeah but better than that Alligator look of yours."

And then a pillow flew on her face.

The sound of the door bell announced the arrival of food . Before Stacy could manage to get up from the couch, Mary was already at the door.

Stacy sighed at her best friend. She loves her so much . One day without talking to her was like a year of separation. Mary is not like any other girl in her school . She's way different ; That's what caught Stacy's eyes when she spotted a loner sitting in a lunch table with hair dyed purple and in an all black attire. She has this rock chick kind of a look in her . And oh ! Her music sense was so different from Stacy's that it bothered her a lot during sleep overs. Metallic Rock is her all time favorite genre and Stacy prefers pop. They're way different from each but then they're the best of friends. Mary is very possessive about her. But Stacy kind of likes it.

Stacy gets distracted from her train of thoughts by the loud heated conversation going on at the door. She rushed towards the door to find Mary arguing with the delivery boy who happened to be .. wait what?!? Stephen?. Her eyes bulge out as she saw him standing all in his glory wearing the red with yellow border uniform of the Chinese takeaway. Even in the uniform he looked damn hot. His emerald eyes dark with rage was transfixed into Mary's black ones. And then suddenly yesterday's incident came vividly in her memory . What an asshole !

"W-what is going on over here?"

Immediately Stephenson eyes snap up to meet hers and the darkness subsides.

"Stack ! Teach your over protective best friend to behave with people."

"Oh really ? You're saying this ? I guess half the girls in the school had their throats once inserted into your dirty mouth",  snapped Mary .

"I don't give a damn to chicks like you . You're purple hair gives me nightmares."

Before Mary gives a fiery comeback, Stacy shouts at the top of her voice "WILL YOU BOTH JUST SHUT YOUR FREAKING MOUTH UP?"

Inevitably both of them shuts up. Stacy took this opportunity to give Mary a glare sending a message for her to leave the scenario. Mary understands and heads back to the living room. After she left, Stacy turned to Stephen.

"Umm the food."

"Oh yeah !.. ", he nods handing her the food.

"How much is it? " Stacy asked casually.

"It's for free" replied Stephen with a smirk on his face.

She rolled her eyes ."Seriously? I don't need your God damn charity Stephen."

"As if I  left any choice for you other than to except if" and with a wink he turned to leave.

Stacy had a very much urge to tell him what she had seen the other day and what impact it had on her best friend . She shouted so that he can hear .

" STEPHEN?"

He stopped in his track and turned to face her.

"What ? You already miss me?" He said with a full grin.

"I really like this side of yours but not the one I saw yesterday at the park. It was my other best friend's girlfriend. He had tough time recovering from the shock."

And with that the grin vanished and Stacy's door slammed closed . Stacy fell a bit better. She had finally done something from her best friend.
