I took a deep breath before opening up the office door. The door slowly creaked as I enlarged the opening and I felt my heart begin to race...
"You called Dr Tomlinson?" I asked
"Zayn" he smiled "you alright there?"
I gave a quick nod and he frowned. He then stood and brushed past me
"Follow me" he instructed
"Yes sir" I followed closely behind
He took me into the cages area where hybrid humans spoke to each other or had arguments
"A-are you testing me?" I stammered
"No Zayn" he chuckled "I'm not sending you in with a hybrid"
"So... Why are we stopping?" I asked quietly, fear clear in my voice
"Because" Dr Tomlinson began to smile proudly "I'd like you to be the first to meet our only perfected hybrid"
"M-me?"
"Indeed" he nodded turning around and clasping the thick metal bars in his hands "I'm sure you'll appreciate him, but he can be a little sensitive"
"What is it crossed with?" I asked
I heard a low growl that caught me off guard. Dr Tomlinson chuckled with a shake of his head and I calmed down
"He" Dr Tomlinson corrected me "has been chemically crossed, he was injected with a Leopard's DNA"
I gulped. Although I loved those creatures I also knew of their temper... What if this thing hurt me?
"Come on lad" Dr Tomlinson called
Terror began to flow through my systems but before I had the chance to tremble I began to gape, my fear instantly vanishing
"What are you looking at?" The hybrid snapped
I shut my mouth and stared... What was I supposed to say?
"Niall" Dr Tomlinson smiled "this is Zayn"
"Hi" I held out my hand for him to shake
"Whatever" he scoffed
"Oh... Okay" I put my hand back to my side
"Zayn?" Dr Tomlinson gave me the look that asked if I was afraid
I shifted a little and I knew that was all he needed for a confirmation
"Right" Dr Tomlinson became serious "Niall here needs a trustworthy employee to watch over him and help him with his human part of life. That is where you come in"
"Me?"
"Yes" he nodded "Niall is perfectly safe I guarantee you, nothing will go wrong as he his one hundred percent stable"
"If he doesn't know anything human other than English then how do you know that he won't hurt me?" I asked slowly
"Zayn you've got to teach him to trust" Dr Tomlinson explained "and for him to trust people you'll have to teach yourself the exact same thing except you need to learn to trust him... It's only for a month"
"Alright" I agreed "but just him?"
"Just me" Niall answered with a menacing smile
