One morning I woke up early. The sun was barely lighting up the sky. I tried to go back to sleep. Thinking that I had time before school starts. The only sound of the house was the echoes of the doorbell. What the hell? Who could possibly be ringing my doorbell at a time like this? Waiting for someone to get the door, it rung again. "Seriously?" I mumble to myself, getting up from bed on my feet.

Tumbling down the staircase till my hand turns the knob to reveal to be the girl of my dreams. "Hailee?" Was this real? Hailee, my dream girl from across the street, is actually at my front door steps. I am seriously going to thank God later. "Hey," be cool Mendes, be cool. "W-what's going on?"

Wow. Smooth. Ugh!

Hailee had on her gray romper with black sandals like it were summer. "I'm really sorry to bother you, again, after yesterday I believe I owe you a favor."

Yesterday. Seems more like just an hour ago. So weird to think that your dream girl owes you something. I did help her break in her house. I couldn't think of anything at the moment. "I'll let you know when that favor is needed." I outside from behind her. Still the sun was getting some light around the houses.

"Okay. I'll be across the street. Waiting for that favor." As she was stepping away from the porch, Immediately my instincts kicks in.

Just out of the blues, I called out, "can I have your number?"

She stops.

D-did I...

She turns around. Her brown strands swifts to the side.

...ask for her number?

Come towards me quickly she takes out her phone. "Do you have your phone?" She asked me. I shook my head, explaining that it was up stairs charging. "Just put your number in mine." Was Hailee smiling. She was smiling. Am I the one who did that? Grabbing her phone, edger to type in my number onto her contacts.

Handing the phone back, I heard my sister calling out to me. "Shawn? Who's there?"

I didn't wanted to turn away from the angel, but out of respect I did. "Hailee from across the street."

Aaliyah, still in her PJs, skips forward. Face to face with Hailee. "Hi." Friendly she says. "Finally glad to see my older brother made more friends."

I wanted to push her away right now. I was having a good three minutes with Hailee Steinfeld and I know my little sister is gonna make a fool out of me. A year ago there was an incident that involves me peeking out of my window to Hailee's while she was coming out of the shower. I didn't even know that Hailee was taking a shower in the first place. And Aaliyah caught me spying.

"Peeping Tom!" She pointed at me at the door way, luckily no one was home. "You said you were studying. Don't you know what can of a pervert you're becoming!"

"It's not what it looks like." I tried convincing a twelve year old that I wasn't being a Peeping Tom to the girl that I loved across the street.

We made a deal. I clean her room. Every two weeks when Dad tells her it was messy. Better than Aaliyah saying I was a pervert to my parents, especially in front of Hailee.

Hailee was weighing her body away from me. "It's nice meeting you..."

"Aaliyah." They both shook hands. "See ya around!" Hailee waves goodbye at me, going back to her house.

I closed the door shut. Leaning my back against the door. Groaning out loud for Aaliyah to know she ruined my chances with Hailee.

"Oh come on, Shawn. She was totally into you."

My eyes closed. "Was she?" Sarcastically I groan.

"The shirt you're wearing."

"What about it?"

"She's couldn't keep her eyes off your chest." I opens my eyes, wide. Aaliyah grinning. "I'll be waiting in the kitchen for breakfast."

I rush to the guest bathroom downstairs, in the mirror I had my gray sweats, and a tank. Aaliyah was right. This shirt is almost visible. Was this what Hailee was looking at? Never had I ever consider myself a Looker. I started going to the gym last year. Glad to see the process coming along great.
