This is the story of the bad boy. The one that fell in love with you. The one that stole your heart. But at the same time broke it. Yes, it had it's ups and downs, but you never thought you'd be missing the man you hated so much. How do you start? At the beginning, I guess...

"I can do that and more!" Steve boasted at Bucky from the edge of the playground.

"I know you can, but I don't think this doll does. Why don't you show her?" Bucky smirked looking at the ten foot wall, "Go ahead!" The girl just giggled as she watched the tiny boy walk slowly up to the massive obstacle that seemed even larger compared to Steve's small frame.

One foot up on the bricks your small voice piped up, "Sixteen, Steve, Sixteen people have tried to climb that wall, not one has succeeded. I suggest you let those High School boys scale it before you break yourself."

"(Y/N), I can do just fine by myself! Thank you!"

"No you can't. I was the one that caught you when you tried to jump over Miss Rachel's bushes. I'm the one who cleaned that nasty cut when you ran into that tree off of Third. I'm just saying, it's the first day of fourth grade, and I'm not going to be late, so make sure you don't hurt yourself, Stevie..."

"Hey, (Y/N)! Leave him alone! You're always trying to get him out of this stuff! This lovely gal right here was just looking to see how great of a climber Steve is!"

"Oh, James, if only you knew that your charm may get you something some day, but it definitely won't be anything that requires any type of education! See you in class, James!"

"James Barnes, my office, NOW!" A crowd of students were surrounding something, right in front of your Chemistry class. Pushing through the congregation of people in the Intermediate School's hallway.

Bucky was sitting on the floor, his fist bloody and another boy's face dripping with the same red.

"He was saying things about Ste- Ma'am, he was being a bully. I was just doing the right thing! Please, Miss Jillian! My Ma's gonna kill me!"

"You should have thought about that before you knocked this poor boy's face!" She retorted.

He passed right by you while the teacher led them towards the office. His eyes never leaving the floor in front of his feet.

A little blonde boy ran after them, but you held your book out, stopping him, "Steve, leave him alone."

Up until senior year, your encounters with Bucky were limited to these scenarios and tiny talks with Steve which he interrupted. But now that your last year of school was just beginning, you kinda both had a class together, specifically lab science, and even more specifically, lab partners.

"Book, James! Grab your book, then the notebook, then the beaker, then and only then will you even touch a chemical!" You rolled your eyes whilst holding a test tube full of some sort of base that was potentially going to explode.

"Look, Doll, you need to relax, take off those goggles, they're going to ruin your makeup. Plus, your gloves don't match your dress."

"Safety first, fashion later! Listen, why are you so obsessed how I look? Every time I'm focused you try to fix my outfit!"

"Uh- (Y/N)?"

"You are seriously the worst lab-"

"(Y/N)!" Suddenly you're being pulled down onto the floor and burst of glass showers over you.

"What happened?" you ask concerned, pushing his arms away, you were basically disgusted by him.

"You spilled the base... on the acid. That's really the only thing I learned this week and you forgot that..."

Suddenly both of you were towered over by the teacher, "Principal's office, you two."

"Yes, ma'am... I blame you!" Your finger dug into Bucky's chest as you spoke the last sentence.

This time you actually walked into this dreaded place with him rather than just watching him enter alone.

"I'm sorry I made you spill that..."

"You better be!"

"I just wanted you to know that there were a few girls that were dying to be where you were and I wanted them to look at you when you looked nice-"

"I don't want to impress those girls! Those are the girls you kiss everyday, no, I'm at school to learn, so hopefully someday, I can save a life or two! And it's not easy to become a surgeon in such a sexist world!"

"Doll, just hear me out, I'll talk to my parents, my dad may be able to get you off the hook, he's good with his words. He raised me, sweetheart!"

"I wouldn't call you good with words, but decent. However, I don't care if my parents find out about this. They'll agree with me, I know them, it's my future I care about. This year won't do me any good with you distracting me!"

"I distract you?"

"Yes... well, not like that! Just, you're a distraction when I am working because of your voice... NOT that I like it, I mean. I hate you. And you know that."

"Yep..." Inside he was dying... of course you hated him. Why else would he be so attracted to you?
