I do have to put a trigger warning on this... I'm sorry. He does abuse her a little. I'm not romanticizing it at all, but read at your own risk.

Loud pounding on your door made you stumble off the stool and drop your notebook, "What?"

"Please?" There Robert stood dressed in a tuxedo holding out a dress that probably cost him his entire life's saving, "I know the science fair's tomorrow, but I was going to ask those girls and I just realized you were the only one I wanted to take..."

"Robert-"

"Just, please?"

"Let me see the dress..." you smiled slightly. You could tell his grin was honestly genuine. You closed the door after stepping inside, "I'll be ready in one hour... don't be late!" His laugh makes you smile to yourself, "Mom, I need some help!"

You stood in the doorway preparing yourself for the night when your father opened the door where Robert was already standing.

"Wow..." was all he was able to say.

"You look wonderful, Robert," you smiled while stepping out of your home.

He linked his arm with yours and you both began your stroll down to your High school. Why were you doing this? You had no idea, but suddenly you took a pretty large liking to Robert.

"What's on your mind, Doll?"

"Science fair..." you laughed.

"You'll do fine!"

"Yes, but bypass is a completely new concept and I'm still trying to figure out how not to kill my patient..."

"I'm going to pretend like I know all those words are, anyway, it's a dance, cut the frown and we'll have a ton of fun!"

"Thank you, Robert, for getting me out here... I needed it."

His linked arm was now released as he put it around your waist. Your body flawlessly leaning onto his. The both of you walked like this until you were greeted by loud music and tons of other couples entering the building.

The night was nowhere near over when they called a few people up onto the stage for court. And completely to your surprise, Sandra and Bucky won.

It didn't bother you though, it's not like you would've won. You weren't pretty enough. You and Robert continued to dance throughout the evening until it was time to leave. You and Robert were sitting inside a diner that you had been going to for years as friends only this time, you were slightly more than friends...

"That was so much fun!"

"It really was... You enjoyed it?" He smiled taking your hands in his.

"I did! I never thought such a stereotypical thing would actually be so interesting. They had so much food and it was just amazing! And I had the best dance partner, too!"

"I didn't even know you could dance so well..."

"Well, there's a lot you don't know about me, but I wouldn't call my dance moves good at any rate."

Suddenly, Robert was leaning over the table towards you. It took you a moment to register what he was doing, but soon enough you were mimicking his motions until your lips met. Staying there for a few moments while you kissed.

"Okay..." you breathed out when you were done.

"I've waited so long to do that..."

"That was- uh, wow...okay? Um that was my first kiss..."

"No it wasn't. You kissed Steve."

"In the first grade. It doesn't count."

"But that one did?"

"That one did..."

*Time Skip 6 months (End of Senior Year)*

You rubbed your eyes slowly as you sat up, "Robert?"

"Yes, Love?"

"What are you doing?" you focused on the letter in his hand, "Who's that from?"

"No one! You need to stay out of people's business!"

"Sorry..." you muttered. Sitting against the headboard of Robert's bed, "I'm going to go back to my place to get ready for school..."

"You and your school! Ugh, why do you care so much?"

"I don't know I'm just trying to learn- It's something you could try some day! You could use a good lesson! I'll see you at school if you choose to show up!"

"You'll be looking for a long time. I'm not going! And you're going to learn to not disrespect me that way."

"I hate you..." you muttered towards him.

"No you don't. You love me, that's where you're confused, Doll."

"No, I hate you. I loathe you, but you can't wrap your thick mind around the fact that someone doesn't like you! I'm failing a class because of a boy and I'm failing my life because of another one!"

Robert stood up and walked over to you slapping you hard across your face, "Don't ever say that again!"

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry..." you spoke trying not to cower.

"You better be!"

"I'm sorry..." you whispered again, as he hit you. This time, however, he drew blood. You stood up and ran out his house and into yours to prepare for the day.

"Sorry I'm late, James, you didn't start the experiment yet did you?"

"No, not quite yet. What happened to your face?"

"I fell on my way here. I was running so I wouldn't be late and I tripped."

He nodded his head obviously sensing something was wrong, but he kept quiet. Pouring one liquid onto the next and focusing on it. When it was your turn to look through the microscope you leaned down, but Bucky pulled your face up examining your cut.

"I've been in a lot of fights before. I know the difference between a cut and a punch. Who hit you?"

"Do your work, please..."

"(Y/N), I just want to help you-"

"Then let me get an A in this class and work!" He hesitantly grabbed the paper and began to write.
