The Boy Next Door

Chapter 7

     "Finally home.." Jonas said hopping out of the car. "Careful!" I said catching him as he almost fell. I swear this boy is the clumsiest boy I've seen. I still love him though. "I'm alright Brooke." He said smiling. "Get out of here!" I heard someone scream. It was his mom. Talking to his dad. Wow. He doesn't need to be here and I think we need to leave fast. "Jonas.. Come on let's just go to my house" I said looking at him. He was just staring at the fight not moving. I tried pulling him back to me but it didn't work. "Jonas!" He finally looked at me and hugged me and we ran to my house. Leaving Mario and the rest. "Guys! We're coming too!" I heard Jovani scream. As soon as we got in Jonas and I collapsed on my bed. "How long should I stay?" He asked. "It doesn't matter Jonas. I have no one to stay with anyways." I said playing with his hair. OH MY GOD HIS HAIR IS LIKE THE SOFTEST THING EVER WHAT. Sorry I don't know what happened there. "Okay I'll stay.." He said kissing my forehead and pulling me to him so I wasn't playing with his hair anymore. "Wanna watch tv?" I asked looking up at him. Well. I'm talking to myself cause this boy is gone. He must be tired. I feel for him. His parents fighting all the time, getting hate on the Internet, feeling like no one cares when everyone actually does. I had that feeling before dad left. Now I know you're wondering what happened to me dad. Here's the story:
One day when I was at school I got a call from home saying I had to rush home fast. So I did. When I got home my parents were fighting and breaking things but it was mostly my dad. My mom still loved him but it was like he hated her guts. Then he saw me and hugged me then walked out and never came back. Mom had called the school cause she wanted me to come home but I still don't know why.
"Where are you guys?" I heard Julian ask. I think I heard Jovani slap his shoulder but I don't know. "Guys. It's easy to tell us where you are." I heard Mario this time. Then my doorknob turned and I pretended to sleep. Cause ya know. I'm still a kid haha. "Aw how cute." Cat said sitting on the edge of the bed. "Very" this time I heard Celina which made me smile but I tried to hide it. "Guys where are y'all?" I heard a different voice. Kate? Kate! I hopped up without thinking and ran to her and hugged her. Even though we just met its like we're best friends I don't know. I have 3 best friends that I don't ever wanna lose and a boy I never wanna leave. I wonder if I woke him up by jumping. Probably. I turned around and saw Mario and Cat laughing at me cause I was fake sleeping while Julian and Jovani were on their phone taking selfies. Of course. I looked over at Jonas and saw him sleeping peacefully. Cutieee. "Are you okay?" Kate asked shaking me. "I'm fine! Just a little upset about my mom that's all. But other than that I'd say I'm fine." I replied in a happy tone. I wasn't happy. I can't be. I can't even try to be happy without wanting to break down and cry. But that's just me. "Brooke..?" I heard Jonas' scratchy voice. "I'm here Jonas.." I turned back to him and smiled and he smiled back laying his head back down and I heard his soft little snores. "Oh yeah Brooke?" Kate asked me. Is she nervous? "Yeah?" I asked raising an eyebrow. "Jovani.. He's pretty cute.. You think he would date me?" She asked looking down at her feet. "Obviously! You're gorgeous and sweet. He love girls that are sweet!" I said hugging her. She smiled and walked back into my room as I went to the bathroom to freshen up. I bet I look like a wreck. I walked in and locked the bathroom door and took a good look at myself in the mirror. My scars. They were there. The scars on my wrists, legs, stomach.. Wow. My body is ruined.. My face is skinny as hell. I'm pale.. I'm imperfect. Why does Jonas love me? I don't know. But I'm glad he does cause he's helped me. Even if it's only been a week. Who cares? I walked back out the bathroom and Jovani was standing in the hallway. "Brooke? Can I talk to you downstairs for a bit?" He asked nervously. "Yeah of course come on." I said walking down the steps. "Kate she's pretty.. And very cool. I think I like her but I don't know if she likes me back.." He said looking at his feet. "Oh she does.. I promise" I said winking at Jovani and walking back upstairs. "Brooke! Weston and I.. We're kinda dating now.." Celina said out of the blue. I was shocked to be honest. "What?" I asked stepping back a bit. "We're dating.." She said scared. "That's great!" I said finally understanding. I'm slow I know this already. "Bryce and I are dating.." Cat said quietly. But Mario heard. And boy he wasn't happy. "What! Why didn't you tell me?! You know I'm protective over you! What if he hurts you cat! I don't want you to ever be hurt!" He said quieting down a bit more. "I'm sorry Mario." She said hugging him. He Didn't hug back at first but he finally did and I laid back down with Jonas listening to his soft little snores. And they all took pictures of it. Great. I'm gonna be everywhere. My ugly face next to this cute boy. I'm about to get some hate.. Just great..
