Shikamaru x Reader

My B-day!

You had awoken and realized it was your birthday. You did all the things you usually did in the mornings like take a shower, brush your teeth, get dressed, eat whatever food you could find, all that good stuff. 

You went out your flat and walked the streets of Konoha and screamed, " IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!! YAAAAAY!" 

In your head you knew today was going to be exciting. 

"So it's your birthday today (y/n)?" Asks a familiar voice that scared you and made you trip on her own shoe. 

"AAAH!" You yelped. Suddenly you felt the warmth of arms around you. 

"How troublesome." Says Shikamaru. 

"Uh..... sorry for being a drag." You said blushing a little. 

Shikamaru's P.O.V. 

I could see (y/n) blushing a little so I decided to set her up straight. 

"Nah, it's okay. You get a pass since it's your birthday. Since I just found this out I'll give you three presents. One you'll have to use now, one when you can use it whenever you want, and one when I feel it's the right moment to give to you." I say scratching the back of my neck feeling my face get hotter. 

(y/n)'s P.O.V.

"Oh, thank you Shikamaru but you don't have too." I say shyly. 

"No, I want to give these three gifts to you. It'll be troublesome if you don't say yes." Shikamaru says. 

"Well I don't want to make you sad, so okay, but if you feel that-" I say but I'm cut off by Shikamaru. 

"No buts. I will give you these three presents whether you like it or not." Says Shikamaru sternly. 

"I guess I have no choice but to say only yes and thank you." I say with defeat. 

Shikamaru's P.O.V.

"Okay, your first present is me being your ride to places, which means I'll give you a piggy back ride to anywhere. Your second present is a wish, favor, or question. Your last and final present is a secret and will be given to you when I feel it is the right moment." I say feeling my face getting hot. I get down to my knees and let (y/n) get on my back. I waited and she finally got on my back. I tell her to hold on tight and replies with an okay. She gently puts her arms around my neck trying not to strangle me. 

"Thank you Shikamaru." Says (y/n) as she lays her head on my shoulder. 

"Yeah yeah, anyways, thank you for..... yesterday." I managed to say. 

"Anything for you Shikamaru." I hear (y/n) reply. Does she like me?

(y/n)'s P.O.V. 

"Anything for you Shikamaru." I say. I realized what I said and that I couldn't take it back. I felt embarrassed. 

"So where are you going today?" Asks Shikamaru.  

"Um.... can we go to the flower shop?" I asked Shikamaru. 

"Sure, whatever you want." Says Shikamaru as he walked towards the flower shop. 

"Hmmmhmmmhmmmm." I hummed without realizing it. 

"Do you want me to run faster?" Asks Shikamaru. 

"If you want." I says as Shikamaru runs faster. I hold on tighter trying not to strangle him by accident. 

Shikamaru's P.O.V. 

I can feel (y/n) tighten her grip. She's still trying not to strangle me.... if Ino had this opportunity then she would strangle me for sure. (y/n) must care... nah, she's just nice. 

"Hmmmmhmmmmhmmm." I hear (y/n) start to hum. It's nice and soothing, I wonder how she would sound if she sang. 

"Your humming is soothing." I say. 

"Thank you." Says (y/n).

(y/n)'s P.O.V.

I forgot that he could hear me... but he didn't mind I guess. We sooned made it to the flower shop to find Sakura and Ino fighting over Sasuke I think while Choji and Naruto stood there betting on who'll win. Of course Choji had bet on Ino while Naruto had bet on Sakura. Who ever won gets to treat both of them to dinner.

"Oh hey Shikamaru!" Says Naruto. Everyone turns their attention to me and Shikamaru. 

"OOOO, ARE YOU GUYS DATING!?!?!?" Yells Ino. 

"Haha, no, Shikamaru insisted to give me a ride everywhere today for a birthday present?" I said chuckling a little. 

"TODAY'S YOUR BIRTHDAY?!?!?!" Screams everyone. 

"I gotta plan this!" Yells Ino as she runs into another room. 

"Happy Birthday (y/n)!" Says Naruto, Sakura, and Choji. 

"Thank you and Shikamaru, you can let me down now if you want." I say feeling bad for him. 

"Nah." Says Shikamaru stubbornly. Ino came out from the other room.

"I got the rest of the day off to plan this thing! OUT OUT (y/n) AND YOU TOO SHIKAMARU!" Yells Ino scooting us out. "Go and enjoy your lovely day until the party. It's going to be at my house at five." 

"But you don't ha-" You were cut off by Shikamaru as he runs away from the flower shop. 

"She won't take no for an answer." Says Shikamaru. "So where do you wanna go now?" 

"Can we go to the playground over there?" I ask excitedly. 

"Sure if you say so." Says Shikamaru. We finally made it to the playground. Shikamaru let me off his back to go on the swings. 

"Do you want to get on the swing next to me Shikamaru?" I ask smiling. 

Shikamaru's P.O.V.

"Nah." I say. I watch (y/n)'s smile go down a little as if she's disappointed. 

"Well if you say so." Replies (y/n). 

"You have that second present if you want to use it now?" I suggest. 

"Nah, I don't want to force you to do something that you don't want to do." Replies (y/n). I'm a little surprise to what she said. 

"Well since you put it like that then I have no choice but to get on with my free will." I say as I get on the swing next to (y/n). 

"Thank you bu-" I cut her off.

"No buts." I say. 

~TIME SKIP!!!~ 

Shikamaru's P.O.V.

"It's time for the party. Well, jump off the swings and I'll catch you." I say getting off the swings positioning myself getting ready for (y/n) to jump. "Well come on!"

"I'm kinda scared.." I hear (y/n) say timidly. 

"Hey, I promise I'll catch you. Trust me." I say warmly to (y/n). "If not then I'll break your fall." 

"Okay, I trust you Shikamaru!" Says (y/n) as she jumps off the swings lands on my back. We ran over to Ino's place being greeted by everyone saying happy birthday (y/n)!
