The next week passed as it is. I ignored Alec all the time beside when I had to work with him. I liked him and did enjoyed time I spent with him but I couldn't bear the judging eyes of the people around us. I couldn't help but notice every time when he tried to look at me, which was quite often. My heart would immediately start pumping fast when I knew that Alec was looking my way. When he called me to do something I would write everything down and as soon as we were done I would fly away from his office because I knew he was trying to say something.
Alec had something to say to me but I never gave him the chance to speak. Or when he got the opportunity to talk to me he hesitated. I was thankful to god when I sped away from the office on the last day of my weekend, Saturday. But I was oblivious to the fact that someone was following me.
I reached home in ten minutes and after unlocking the door and going in I threw my stuff on the shelf and plumped myself on the couch in front of the television. After fifteen minutes had passed I heard the doorbell ring. Without checking who it is, I opened the door only to find my boss, Alec, standing there in a suit with a flower in his hand and a big smile on his face.
Just after seconds of checking him out, I closed the door on his face with a panicked look on my face. I started walking to and fro in front of the door. I started talking to myself, which was my habit whenever I was in panic or anxiety.
"Oh no, he's here... I thought I got rid of him... but clearly not... he is right here... how in the world I would get rid of him now... oh god... this is not good... what should I do... what should I do... this is not helping... " I stopped with a halt. Whenever I was in this situation which was almost never, I would usually ask myself what to do and I would think of something in a matter of time. But right now, my mind was total blank.
The abrupt knock on the door made me step out of my bubble of thought.
"Zoey, open the door. It is not nice to keep the guests waiting outside." I heard his deep voice. And the way he said my name made me swoon over him but if I open the door that might happen.
"What do you want?" I asked with a quivering tone.
"I obviously want to talk to you considering I wasn't able to all this week because you ignored me." He said.
"I didn't ignore you." I replied quickly. "Go away; I don't want to talk to you."
"The fact that I am here means that I am not going away without talking to you. Now open up or I could just break the door."
"Yeah, right" I scoffed at him.
"Are you challenging me, Ms. Adams?" I could swear he had his eyebrows raised. I didn't reply thinking he was just fooling around but when I heard someone push the door with force I realized he was not joking.
"What the hell do you think you are doing? You can't just break my door like that." I opened the door and yelled at him.
"And hello to you too." He said with a victorious smile on his face; this was a plot. He offered me the rose he was holding me I took it hesitantly. He entered my apartment as he owned the place. I put the rose in the vase with the other flowers but somehow that rose stood out or so I thought.
"You should go and get ready." He ordered me. I raised my eyebrows at him to ask what he was talking about. "I don't want to miss the reservations. I am really hungry."
"Excuse me? I am not going anywhere and you should just say what you had to say in the first place and get the hell out of my house." I snapped at him, I was angry at him but I was angrier on myself as I wanted to go with him wherever he'd take me.
