Chapter 14

I was caught and I was going to have to come clean. Although I haven't really done anything wrong, the fact I didn't tell Hays was bad. She'd probably think I had feelings for whoever I slept with and she'd be right.

I realised it was, in fact, inevitable as, Ollie would have to confront me. He's not the type to let things go at all. He might in the moment if it's small, but if it's something as big as I think, he thinks this is... there's no way he would stay quiet.

That basically scared the shit out of me at work. It was like I was in trance during my shift, waiting tables with a plain face, washing glasses staring ahead. I didn't talk other than a, "yes" or "coming".

What made me see that I was scared shitless was when Harry offered to drive me home, and I profusely declined. As I did, I didn't fail to notice his face fall into a pit of sadness spilling from his feet as he walked away from me towards his car.

I remember standing there, and he had his hand on the open car door. He turned back to look me on the pavement. "Are you sure you don't want a lift?" He asked again, I think he was scared I'd fall asleep on the bus or something.

I nodded, "I'm sure now go."

He ran his fingers along his jaw, "I'm worried about you J." He stated and I couldn't help but smile at the fact he didn't want me to be alone. "At least let me drive you to the bus stop, you take the 73 right?"

I nod and see him smile in triumph because he knows what bus I take.

He's so cute.

"Come on J," he coaxes gently and for the sake of his sanity I agree, walk forward to him, and place my hand on his, the one holding the metal door open.

"Thank you," I smile. Then I slid inside, and he sits in the driver's seat closing the door.

Seconds after turning on the engine, he questions me, "are you okay?"

"Yeah," I said staring straight ahead, where is that bus stop when I need it?

"Jupiter," he says and I keep my head firm. "Jupiter, please." The pleading sounds sinking into me, I look at him. His eyes are locked on mine and he's still driving.

"Fine, but keep your eyes on the road—don't wanna end up in a hospital." He nods and looks to the road.

"Go on then," he mutters.

"I think I'm going to have to tell Hays I slept with you."

"Okay," he says and I gasp.

"How are you okay with that? You know how difficult that's gonna be?"

"Yeah, but you guys weren't together when it happened—" he said, his voice changes to a hesitant tone and his eyes flicker towards me, "—weren't you?"

"Yeah you're right, we weren't together," I confirm and he nods, eyes still on the road. His left-hand grips onto the steering wheel when we both knew it wasn't needed. I think he needed it—for moral support?

"So there won't be a problem," he mumbles, each words sounding raspier and slower paced than the other. I had a feeling he wasn't exactly enjoying the conversation he started.
