Chapter 21
(Upon reflection I've decided to dedicate this last chapter to thisnegra because the first part of this story, that was posted , very nearly a year ago was also, dedicated to her- so it's that nostalgia and that fact I told her countless times before about me, wanting to finish an actual book, and look at that! I did! And also, if you haven't already she's amazing and you should definitely check out her works!)(Harry's point of view.)
"Today is another sad tragic day, as an Avianca plane disappeared with 214 people on board while flying from London to New York. Experts believe the plane made a "fast and unpiloted descent". Evidence to prove such theory has already started as an underwater search is already underway. Edward Marshall, a US air safety consultant, said the satellite tracking data was not strong enough to conclude what exactly happened, which has sparked conspiracy theories. o.o.o
It's been three weeks since she left.
I sat in the second row, behind people I didn't recognise since we never got that far. I didn't know anyone she knew— I'd heard about them from her, but I couldn't put a name to a face on a single one of them.
I remember when I'd first walked into the church, it was quite and lonely, but everything was set up already. I could feel people stare at me, as they walked in, they probably thought I'd fallen asleep in the second row—unaware— of the service that was about to start. I kept my head down and kept my silent sobs, and tears to myself.
By now the service had already started, but I'd zoned out for most of it, I just—I can't believe it.
When the priest spoke the next sentence, my head spiked up to watch the altar. Despite my unwillingness: "and now, Jupiter's fiancé, Hayley will say a few words."
I watched and waited, for the person Jupiter spent two years with, to come into my sight when a blonde at in front of me stood up (I don't know what I was expecting), and looked down at the three people that were to her right, a black woman, a white man and a sharper, younger looking white man—they must be Jupiter's family. Then she, Hayley turned her head slowly to her left, at a blonde boy who nodded her forward-- encouraging her—then she walked to the altar.
Just watching her back walk further from the pews, felt like she was stepping over my already fragile self and I felt pain and worse yet—jealously. (Because she knew Jupiter for longer than I, she got more time with her before she left and although I should be grateful I got time at all, I still didn't like the fact Hayley had the upper hand.)
Then the bitch cleared her throat and I glared.
"Jupiter—" the moment her name echoed through the church, my face instantly softened. Yet my eyes kept the blazing burn on the blonde. "—there's so much to say about her that I'm finding it hard to say this, here in front of you all. Jupiter was always joyful, even at the worst of times she always remained optimistic. She loved helping others (a number of times she would help me with my brother, or how she'd always remember the smallest things about and around the flat). Jupiter's face when she'd have her favourite peppermint tea with some hobnob's, now that was moment perfect for the camera. She was so much more than just another human being on earth, she was so, so much more and yet she was gone before her time. At twenty-three, Jupiter lived a happy live for the most part... There is something I have to say I regret, I regret it so immensely that I can never forgive myself for what I did. I-I—" she stops and tears start to roll down her cheeks.
