Bite Back

breathe in, breathe out.

spread your wings and let the wind take you.

doesn't matter how loud you shout.

they will beat you down, they will ignore you.

fly through the storm and don't give up.

fight back the tears, choke on your emotions.

black sheep, known as the mutt.

you'll be able to get through the commotions.

bring your knife to the gun fight.

stand up tall even when they swing at your legs.

don't trip for your freedom, see the light.

empty your emotions through the empty kegs.

burn your throat on smoke.

burn your skin on flame.

everyone just wants to see you choke.

everyone just wants you to take the blame.

spread your wings and fly the storm.

be the hurricane, be the rain.

no, you're not part of the norm.

no, you don't deserve the pain.

bite back, bear your sharp teeth.

you're worth every drop of happiness you deserve.

stop letting the scars seethe.

stop letting them take away what you deserve.
