I had a great relationship with my daughter. She's my world. Her name is Nayali Mckell pronounced (Nay-yay-lee).
Nayali decided to stay the night with my mom and sister whom still lived with my mom she was only 16. I was a average 22 year old father. Had a child young & Nayali was 3 now.
Her mom and I were not together. She decided me taking Nayali to live with me would be good for her. Her moms name is Eva.
I was once in love with that woman but she ended up getting pregnant and the baby wasn't mine.
That was my first heartbreak. My only heartbreak and I'm not trying to feel that Shit anymore.
I was now inside my apartment all alone. I missed my baby girl.
When I go and pick her up tomorrow, I would swing by Karlae's. Make sure she was fine.
she was very distant and stubborn. Something pulled me closer to her. I don't know what it is but I'm damn sure going to find out.
Karlae's P.o.v
The next morning..
I just couldn't stop thinking about this man. He saved my life and I was acting so stubborn. Pushing him away. Like I did everybody else.
I knew he would visit his mom again soon. I felt much better today also.
I decided to put on my Nike sportswear and my Nike runners and go for a run. My body was sore and I needed to do some stretching.
I locked up my door after grabbing my Arm phone holder and plugging in my headphones. I listened to Chance The Rapper's Coloring Book album.
I loved him. I looked down at my phone to change the song and bumped into someone.
Putting my phone back I noticed it was a little girl. She was adorable.
" Hey, are you okay where's your mama ? "
" I not with mama, I with grandma my name Nayali "
" Ok, that's beautiful where is she so I can return you"
" over here " she grabbed my hand leading me to this beautiful woman.
" Hey my name is Karlae I was going for a run and bumped into this little pumpkin " I reached my hand out to shake the woman's.
" oh I'm sorry I should've kept my eyes on this one she runs wild " she smiled.
" well it was nice meeting you , your beautiful by the way "
" thanks baby your such a beautiful young lady yourself "
" alright see you later baby " I bent down and hugged the little girl. I wanted children of my own someday.
I waved the woman bye and began to run again.

I had just pulled into my moms townhouse complex. When I saw Karlae going into her house. I'd stop by later. Right now I just wanted Nayali.
I Knocked on my moms door when my little sister answered.
" Heyyy brother " she hugged me.
" where's Ma & My little girl "
" at the playground "
" okay, i'm about to head over there I'll see you later "
I hopped back in the car and made my way to the community park.
As soon as Nayali saw my car she stopped playing. I got out she ran to me.
My mama was now making her way to me.
" hey baby " she kissed me on the cheek.
" hey ma " I had Nayali on my back now.
" come on let me go and drop you off home I need to stop by somewhere "
I drove for about a minute and was at my moms house dropping her off.
" tell my daddy I said hey ma " I yelled out the car.
She waved walking into the house.
Next stop Karlae.
Karlae p.o.v
I had just got out the shower and decided to put on a black tank top with some tribal print tights. My hair was up in a bun. I had on my black furry slides and I was comfortable.
I went downstairs and got me a little snack and sat on my couch.
That's when I heard a knock on my door.
" who the hell " I said to myself. Since I never got visitors.
" who is it " I was always too short for the peep hole.
" Dwayne "
For some reason I got really happy.
Opening the door I noticed a little girl hiding behind his legs.
" Heyyyy Karlae" she ran up to me. It was the little girl from earlier.
" Heyyy Baby , how are you " I hugged her.
" Umm did I miss something " Dwayne asked looking confused.
" yeah I met her and another nice woman at the park earlier, I was going for my run "
She was just holding on to my leg now.
" so how have you been " he asked taking a seat on my couch.
I tried to walk but remembered Nayali was on my legs.
" Nayali get off her " he said motioning his finger for her to come here.
" Do I have too Karlae" she said looking up to me with her puppy dog eyes.
" no baby " she stuck her tongue out at her daddy.
I laughed lifting her onto my left side because my right side was still badly bruised.
I sat next to Dwayne on the couch.
" but I feel fine, I went for a run my body isn't as sore "
" that's good "
" I don't know how to thank you enough that man could've killed me "
Nayali was now playing in my hair which was once in a bun but not anymore.

Her hair was finally pulled up and I could see how amazing she looked.
Nayali seemed to be taking a liking in her.
Which was all the confirmation I needed to go for it.
" would you mind going on a date with me and Nayali " I couldn't help but laugh.
" don't use her as an excuse to go with me " she said smiling.
" would you like that Nayali" I asked her.
she shook her head yes.
" well we'll be back around 8 " I said getting up.
" okay I'll see y'all later lock the bottom lock " she yelled.
" Bye Karlae " Nayali yelled. She just waved and smiled. Then we were gone.
