Makiah Eight

I wake up and realize that I am NOT in my own room. I quickly sit up and push my hair behind my ears. "Levi?!" I yell.

Levi runs into the room, shirtless. He has a nice body, it's not overly defined but pleasant to look at.

     "What?!" He says with concern.

"Where am I? Is this your room?" I ask.

"Yes, yes it is." He replies.

I look around, his walls are burnt orange with drawings covering one of the walls. "Did anything happen last night?" I ask, worried.

"No, I slept right there on the ground." He says, pointing to the ground with a blanket and pillow set out.

"Okay, thank god." I sigh with relief.

"Come into the kitchen, I made breakfast for us." He says with a smile.

"What did you make?" I ask.

"Just the basics: blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, and hashbrowns." He says.

"Yummy." I say as my stomach growls.

He raises an eyebrow, smiles, then walks out.

Damn, this boy is a year younger than me but appears so much more mature than guys my age.

I walk downstairs to see everything set nicely on the table. "Wow, I'm impressed, Lark. You have really gone all out. I am impressed by this." I say while doing a golf clap.

"Thanks Beckstead. I try, I try." He bows which makes me laugh.

I walk over to him and hug him, "You don't understand how much I actually appreciate this. I honestly love this." I say truthfully. I sit down and try the pancakes. They're pretty good. Everything is pretty good. Better than I can cook, that's for sure. I am a decently bad cook.

Shit.....I need to text my mom. "Mom, I forgot to tell you, I left early this morning with a friend to hang out." I send the text to my mom.

What felt like instantly, I had gotten a text back, "I hadn't noticed you were gone yet. Thank you for letting me know before I worried. Have fun. Love you, hun."

     "Love you too, mom."

*******

I finish my food and wash my dishes as Levi puts them away. "That was really good, Tony. Thank you for the lovely way to wake up." I say with a smile.

"No problem, cutie." He pokes my cheek causing me to blush a bit. "Let's go out on a walk?" He asks.

"Sure, just let me go home and fix myself up a bit." I say.

I run home, change my clothes, fix my hair, wash off my makeup, neaten up my eyebrows, and apply mascara.

As I'm walking out the door, I'm stopped by my sister, Espea.

My brother's name is Quiller, we just call him Quill usually. My parents like more of the "unique" names. Quiller, Makiah, and Espea; Espea is said like the letters "S.P." Quill is twenty-one, I'm eighteen, and Espea is sixteen.

"Makiah, where are you going?" Espea says.

"With a friend from school." I confirm.

"Oh, okay. Nate keeps calling." She says.

"Next time, tell him that I am busy because I am." I say.

"Oka--" Espea is cut off by the home phone ringing. She looks at the caller I.D., it's Nate. She gives me a look that has "Just talk to him" written all over it.

I grab the phone from Espea and accept the call. "Hello, Nate. What can I do for you today, dear sir?" I ask.

"Nothing much, I just wanted to know if you could hang out with Shawn and I today for a few?" He asks.

"That sounds terrific but I already have plans." I state.

"You keep doing this, I know that you're lying." He says. "We're coming over right now." He adds.

"Don't I'm going to be gone." I say. "I'm seriously bu--" Nate hangs up on me. "That little son of a bitch." I say while looking at the phone.

Espea looks at me, "You know he's in love with you, right?" She asks.

"Well of course, it has been that way since sixth grade." I chuckle at the thought.

Nate is a cutie but he's a little bit of a dork. He's like the dorky brother I don't have. Quill can have dorky moments as well but not really, he was popular in school. I have no idea how we can turn out so different, in how we're perceived at school.

"Okay Espea, I have to go Levi is waiting for me." I say. "I better get out of here before Nate and Shawn show up."

     "Levi Lark?!" She asks.

"Yeah." I answer, awkwardly laughing a little bit.

"That guy is a hottie." She says.

"Yes, yes he is." I say. "Okay, well, I'm leaving. Bye." I hug Espea and walk to the front door.

I open the door and Nate is standing there with Shawn right behind him. I jump because they scared me. "Nate!" I yell. "What the hell?!" I add.

"I told you that we were coming." Nate says.

"And I told YOU that I was leaving." I reply.

"You never have actual plans, Rachel told me that you say that a lot. Just because you don't feel like going out." He snaps.

I push past Nate & Shawn and start to walk towards Levi's house. I start walking backwards, "I DO actually have plans today." I point towards Levi's house.

Nate's face starts getting really red; he's angry with me.

"Bye Nate. Bye Shawn." I do like a salute-wave.

Nate and Shawn get into Shawn's car.

I walk into the house, "I'm ba--" I'm cut off by the sound of yelling. I slowly walk into the room where I heard it from.

"YOU FUCKING IDIOT, WHY DO YOU ALWAYS RUIN EVERYTHING YOU DO?!" I hear a man scream.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Levi peeps.

"YOU WILL BE SORRY!" The man screams.

I then hear a LOUD sound. I walk in fast and Levi is holding his face.

"Who the hell is this, Levi?! Another one of your whores?" The man asks.

I step closer, "Now, who the hell are you?" I ask.

     "His father." He answers.

"Well, I can answer your question here and now. I am not answer's. Thank you very much." I say.  "I don't know past girls that you've met that were hanging around with Levi but I am not like that. I am someone with goals regarding a better future for myself. I'm not some girl who gets with guys and leaves. In fact, Levi tried to kiss me and I rejected him because moving fast isn't something that I feel comfortable doing. I don't care who the FUCK you are, don't call me a whore and especially do not hit your very amazing son." I state. "Good day to you, sir." I say.

I help Levi stand up and we walk out.
