One week later

Miranda's POV

I don't know if I was making the right choice. I felt bubbly around Travis. Especially since we've put the past behind us.

Things are different with Wesley. I don't get that same safe feeling. When we kiss, I feel like throwing up. It's just not the same with Wesley.

I spend more time with Carolyn than he does. He doesn't even think he's the father.

"What do you mean is Carolyn your child?"

"I saw the way you looked at Travis. Were you sleeping with him?"

Anger boiled inside me when he said that.

"What makes you think that?! I've been faithful to you ever since we got married!"

Wesley was pacing back and forth. I started to grow nervous.

"Well what did you say to Travis, then?"

I gulped.

"What do you mean?"

He stopped pacing and looked at me.

"You know exactly what I mean. When I sacrificed everything to come and get you, you do this to me."

I took a deep breath.

"What are you talking about?"

He glared at me.

"You're planning on leaving me, aren't you?"

I fell silent. I took a deep breath.

"Wesley, I-"

"No! I don't even care anymore. You can leave. Matter of fact, you need to leave now."

I was stunned.

"You're kicking me out?"

"Yes I am. I don't ever want you to come back. You can take that little trash with you."

My glared at him. I walked towards him and punched him in the nose.

"Don't you ever call my daughter trash again."

I left the room, and walked towards Carolyn's room. I opened the door and looked around for her.

"Carolyn, sweetie?"

Her head popped up from underneath the covers.

"Momma!"

She ran towards me, and picked I her up. I walked out her room, and walked out the house.

I took out my phone and dialed Travis's number.

"Hello?" His voice sounded tired.

"Hi. Did I call at a bad time?"

"No! Not at all." There was a happy change in his voice.

"Well if you don't mind, can you come pick Carolyn and I up at the gas station near my house?"

"Of course. Is everything okay?"

I sighed. "Yeah. I'm hanging in there."

"Okay. I'll be there shortly. I'm getting out of bed right now. Ow!"

"Are you okay?"

"Um yeah. I just fell out of bed."

I laughed. I haven't laughed in a long time.

"See ya soon, Travis."

I hanged up, and started walling down the street towards the gas station.

"Where are we going mama?"

I sighed and smiled at my beautiful daughter.

"Somewhere, sweetheart. Somewhere."
