Lapidot Part 2: 3 am Encounter

"Stop, Peri, that tickles!" Lapis mumbles. "I don't like to be tickled!"

Lapis gasps for air as she sits up frantically, swiping at nothing in the air and then realizing where she was. In her boring old room, with her boring old stuff, and nobody to cuddle with or talk to.

Sighing, Lapis glances at her alarm clock and frowns. 3:32 a.m.

There is no way she'd be able to fall back asleep. Once she wakes up, she can't ever seem to close her eyes again.

Lapis grabs her phone from the bedside table and squints at the sudden bright light. Lying down again and throwing the blanket back over her head, she puts in her passcode and checks Instagram.

She never posted anything other than memes or funny pictures she saw, as she hated her appearance and was often bullied about it. She also was always caught up with the drama going around because she didn't have anyone to tell her about it.

She eventually comes across an interesting username in a comment on one of the more popular girls' picture.

Lily4Life: @/perisgotyournumber You're so dumb, why don't you just go back into that stupid computer and shutup.

Lapis clicks on the username and finds herself on Peridot's page, just as she suspected.

She follows out of habit and quickly starts to second guess. What if she thinks I'm stalking her? she says to herself.

Seconds later, Peridot follows back. She's awake right now?

Lapis bites her lip. She should message her. They were somewhat friends now, right? No. Peridot was just being nice. She wouldn't like a loser like Lapis.

Just as Lapis clicks back, Peridot messages her.

P: Hey Lapis, I didn't know you had an Instagram XD

Lapis scrunches her eyebrows and types before she can stop herself.

L: Why are you awake it's freaking three in the morning???

P: I could ask the same to you now -_-

L: Uh... That's none of your business.

P: Welp then I guess my reason is none of your business either.

Lapis feels her bottom lip quiver as she realizes how much of a bitch she came across as.

L: I'm sorry...

P: Why are you apologizing? You did nothing wrong.

L: Oh.

P: Welp I should head to bed now, though. It's about that time.

L: Wait you haven't even slept yet?

P: ...no I don't go to sleep until late. Did you just wake up?

L: No!

P: ...okay? Well I'll see you tomorrow then in class?

L: Yeah...

Lapis throws her phone down on the floor. She was such a bitch to her! Peridot is probably crying and trying to play it off because Lapis practically bullying her!

Lapis sighs and lies on her back, staring at the ceiling. She closes her eyes, wishing that by morning Peridot would forget this 3 am encounter.
