Chapter 2: Capture Flag POV: Charlie

"Charlie" I hear a voice call from behind. I quickly turn around, practically stabbing the person behind me. I look at the figure with brown hair, tan skin and hazel eyes in front of me, and it takes me a couple of seconds for my brain to register who it is. "Kass, what the Hades? You know how dangerous it is to sneak up on me while I'm training." I scold my best friend. "Yeah, yeah, whatever you say." She responds. "So why'd you come disturb me?" I ask. "I'm pretty sure it wasn't just to tick me off and get a knife to the throat." I lower my knife from her neck and place it by my side. "Correct! I guess you have some of Athena's genes in you after all, maybe you're not just a water wizard." She teases. I laugh in response. "Alright enough with the teasing, you've had your fun, anyways why are you here." "Well, being the good friend that I am, I'm here remind that Capture the Flag starts in an hour, and considering that your a team captain, you might wanna start getting prepared." "Whose the other one?" I ask. "Me." I smile "Of course."
"Ok so we have Chase, Courtney, Flynn, you, and I as threats on our team." I say to Kass. "Yep. It looks like the other team has Quinn, Jake, and Lea as their powerhouses." "Meh, Quinn isn't that good." I joke about my other best friend. "I wouldn't say that, he is a pretty good with a sword." Kass says defensively. "Yeah, for being a son of Hermes." I taunt. "He is the second best fighter, next to you of course." She rolls her eyes. "I've heard rumors that there once was another son of Hermes who was practically a god himself with a sword, apparently he was the best sword fighter at the camp, even better than theAres kids. Besides, not all of us are blessed with having a major god as our parent." She responses. "Last time I check Bellona was pretty kick butt herself." I say. "Yeah, I guess. But I mean come on, you are practically a super demigod hybrid. You have a brain of an Athena kid, yet the powers of Poseidon, not to mention who your parents are." "I guess I am pretty great." I joke. I get a laugh from Kass in response.
"Char, I spot the flag, its about twenty feet to the left of us." Kass whispers to me. "Ok, I say we make a run for it." I suggest." She nods her head in agreement. "You get anybody that tries to stop us, I'll make a run for it. Start sprinting on my count of 3." She nods her head again, this time to tell me she understands the plan. "Alright, 1, 2, 3, GO!" I start racing towards the tree where the flag is being kept hostage. I do not have to turn around to know that Kass is taking care of unwanted company. While the flag is still about ten feet away, a daughter of Mars tries taking me out with a sword but I quickly deflect her with my dagger and while running away pull her feet from under her, causing her to curse and fall. Once I reach the tree a tall boy with dirty blonde hair, green eyes, and fair skin who I know is Quinn jumps down and faces me. "Not so fast, Char." He says. "Quinn, I thought we agreed no using nicknames when fighting." He grins at this and comes charging towards me.
After three brutal minutes of fighting, Quinn tries to hit me in the side but I quickly roll away and dodge his sword and he instead finds his feet being pulled from under him as well. "I love using that move." was all I say as I climbed the tree to victory.
"I can't believe you didn't let me win this one time." Quinn pouts as I sit down next to him. "You know thats never going to happen, right?" I say back. "I know" he sighs "but still, it's be nice." Before I can say anything back, I hear a voice shout my name for the second time that day. I turn around and see Thalia Grace there, looking pretty much the same as she always does. "Thalia!" I yell, running towards my friend. "What's up?" I ask. "Why are you here, Artemis rarely allows you any time off from the hunt." "I'm doing good, thanks for asking." She jokes. "And holy hades Charlie, you become more like your mother everyday." Thalia remarks. "So I've been told." I smile, "So are you going to answer my question or..." "Uh ye, anyways I'm here because Artemis needs me to talk to Perc- I mean your dad." She answers. "Have you seen him?" "Yeah, I think he's over there." I point towards the camp office. "Thanks, I'll see you around, we gotta do something with each other sometime." She yells back as she walks away.
"So thats the Thalia Grace?" asks Kass who appears to have taken my seat. "Gods, you act like she's some legend or something." "Dude, she kinda is. I mean she was a daughter of one of the big three, died, came back to life, became Artemis second in command, participated in two major wars, had a brother who played a huge role in a major war, and helped stopped Percy and his ruling era." Quinn says. "So? I'm a child of the big three, my parents played huge roles in those two major wars as well, and I helped stopped Percy as well, heck I lead that rebellion." I retort back. "And for that, you are sorta legendary as well." Quinn states.
