I shove the key through the lock and make my way inside the house. The house was silent. It'll be just Niall and I. Alone. I wouldn't be lying if I said I was a little scared/nervous.
I put my backpack down at the table and walked back into the living room, as I heard the door bell ring. I look through the peephole. I smile as I open the door.
"Hey Ana," I said to the eleven year old standing at my door. She smiled in return. Anna was my neighbor, active at my church, I've helped coach her track team, I occasionally babysit her, and she is a girl scout. You could say we go back.
"Hi Brin, do you want to buy some cookies?" I smile.
"Of course I do! Are they still £4 a box?" I ask.
"Yes. They are."
"One second." I said, leaving to grab money. I grab my wallet from my backpack, and head back to the door. As I approach the door, I hear her talking to someone. "The grand prize is a brand new bike. I really want a new bike because someone stole mine last year," I hear her say. He person she was talking to said, "That's bad. How much? I'll buy some."
I pull the door, to reveal the stranger. On his knees, was Niall, pulling out money from his wallet. Ana saw me in the door. "I'll have two boxes of each kind," I say to her, handing her £30. She handed me my boxes and I brought my cookies into the kitchen.
I walk back to see Niall, trying to balance all his cookies. I take a few off the top, to help him out. I turn to say, "Bye Ana," I say.
"Bye," she yelled as she continued to go sell more cookies.
I help Niall place his cookies on the ground, so they wouldn't get mixed up with mine.
"So do you know her?" Niall questioned me when I sat in front of him at the table.
"Yeah, she's my neighbor and I babysit her." I answer.
He nods as he opens a box of cookies. I grab my notes and textbooks for the tutoring session to begin.
