Brinlee's POV
I absolutely do not like going to neighborhood barbecues. Especially one hosted by the Swanson's. One, they had four sons, who are younger than me and act like we are dating. Two, they are vegetarians. Now there is nothing wrong with vegetarians, but when you show up to a vegetarian barbecue, all the barbecue is corn and who eats just corn for dinner?
There oldest son, Trevor, who was in the sixth grade walked up to me and Ashton, while we wat on the porch swing, talking about how vegetarians shouldn't throw barbecues. "Hey there," he said sitting down.
"Hi," I said, not wanting to be rude.
"Uh, Ashton you are killing this mood, kindly leave."
Ashton laughed at him as he walked away, Trevor taking his spot. "So babe, what do you say we ditch this place and go out to the movies."
"No."
"Alright, then how 'bout we go up to my room, have a little privacy."
I make a disgusted face at him. "And do what?"
"I don't know. What do couples normally do in a room alone?"
"Why don't you ask your parents?"
I felt him place his hand on my leg, and I slap it off. "Babe, why are you acting like this?"
"I'm not your babe."
"Bae?"
"No."
"Sugar lips?"
"No!"
"Doll face?"
"No," I repeated once more.
He places his arm around me and then said, "Well let's come up with nicknames for each other!"
"Oh, I'm thinking of a couple," I muttered removing his arm.
"Seriously. Why are you denying our love?"
"Uh, your love, and one your 12-"
"And three quarters!" He interrupted.
"And I'm 18. I'm a senior, and your in middle school. Plus, I have a boyfriend, Trev."
"Who?"
"Me," I look behind me and see Niall.
"Oh, man I'm sorry I-I didn't know," Trevor said running off. Niall took his spot, and then kissed me. "I got a surprise out front," he whispered in my ear. He took my hand and walked me out front. I watch as he pulled out a box of pizza. "I heard they were vegetarians, so I bought you a pizza."
I smiled and kissed him. "This is perfect!" I said opening the box to something even more perfect. The pepperonis on the pizza spelt out: PROM?
I kissed him once more. "Definitely."
