"Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up."
✄ ---------------------------------------
It's been a few weeks since our date. We have seen each other at the market sometimes, but that's all really. It made me sort of upset that he hadn't bothered to spend any time with me or anything such as that. But it shouldn't matter, because he isn't my lover. Sadly. And although I do wish that we would be a couple and spend all the time in the world together, not all of dreams may come true. My mother had gone to the village to go food shopping again, so I was stuck in this cottage alone in the middle of the forest. Of course boredom consumed my mind, driving me absolutely mad. I've already read 6 books, baked two pies, and cleaned the entire house. I felt like I was about to burst until a knock came from the cottage door. Mother always said not to open it when she wasn't here but..it could possibly just be Baelfire. I slowly walked to him and gently twisted the nob, slowly opening the door. And to my relief it was the big brown eyed boy I've been thinking about for weeks.
"Hello Baelfire." I said to him softly, blushing and playing with my hair. I always seemed to do that when I was nervous. He smiled at me warmly and chuckled.
"Arielle, you've looked like you had almost seen a ghost." He said to me, making me blush more of how silly I must've looked to him. I opened the door wider and let him into the cottage. He walked in, and as I closed the door he set something on the table. I furrowed my eyebrows and walked towards it, and it seemed to have been a telescope. I smiled gently, but was still oddly confused about why he had brought a telescope.
"You must be wondering why a telescope." He said to me softly, making me nod and giggle a little.
"I've found a ship and I thought we could sail it around for a little while, be back before anybody notices that us or the ship are gone." He said to me, smiling widely at this, what I had though, dangerous plan.
"We can watch the sunset, look at the beautiful water." He said to me softly, holding my hand. His actions made me blush, he made me blush.
"Okay..." I said to him quietly.
"Okay?" He said smiling more at me. I giggled and nodded my head at him excitedly.
"Okay!" I repeated happily, smiling widely at him. I bit my lip gently and felt the warmth of his presence overtake my body. I grabbed the key off the wall and we walked to the door and shut it tightly. Then Baelfire led me to the village. Yes, I was a bit jumpy since my mother should be here, but I felt Baelfire's hand hold mine and I was comforted again by his warm everlasting smile. It was the smile that would always make a sad or worried person think 'it's going to be okay'. And it was the smile I was slowly starting to fall in love with. We snuck past some adults and pirates and ran to the ship he was telling me about. It was beautiful, if I do say so myself.
"Baelfire this is..wonderful." I said breathlessly. He smiled and went to grab the anchor. It wasn't long after we just too the ship out for a small sail. Not too far from the mainland. By the time we were out into the ocean it was already sunset. Baelfire and I watched the sun slowly lower itself behind the mountains. It was such a beautiful sight.
"It's almost as beautiful as you." He said to me softly, making me blush and giggle a little.
"You're such a charming boy." She said to him gently. It was all well until Baelfire's hand gripped onto mine more tightly. I looked at him and furrowed my eyebrows until I saw a hook on his shoulder.
"I don't think this boat belongs to you, las."
